Precise Controlled Pheromone self-generation

Ok, on this score has anyone seen the Mythbusters where they tried to test whether plants could read minds, by attaching a lie detector to a leaf?

It was the freakiest thing. Normally, the needle was steady. The guy would think nice thoughts about the plant and the needle would wiggle. When he imagined setting the plant on fire the needle spiked. He was able to get that reaction from the plant consistently. :open_mouth: (He was standing about a foot away from the plant.) The look on the two testers’ faces was priceless.

Next they set the same thing up in a sealed room and hated  on the plant through a glass window. No deal.

The Mythbuster guys considered the first test a fluke, and decided the myth was busted. Of course, I had been reading this forum, so it was clear as day to me that the plant was reacting to pheromones in the air.

Does anyone see the significance of this?

Ok, I’ll go a little further.

Think about how many times strong emotions are accompanied by goosebumps, or intense sweating.

A dog barks threateningly at close range…
and can smell your fear?!! Did you feel the hair stand up on the back of your neck and arms?
Could those possibly be related? hmmmmm

the sun comes out from behind a cloud and shines on your skin…
your mood brightens? Did you feel your skin tingling?
Could those possibly be related? hmmmmm

A love interest casually brushes a finger across your skin…
You feel goosebumps…
Could those possibly be related? hmmmmm

etc… can anyone think of more examples? A good backrub?

I used to think goosebumps were just “proof” that your body was increasing adrenaline production.

Could it be … that if you can practice, and on command, feel goosebumps, or more weakly, even a “wave” of skin tightening passing across your skin as you concentrate on a certain emotion, you can affect your pheromone signature?

Now, has anyone heard of Biofeedback? An example would be hooking yourself to an EEG and watching the waveform to see if you can get it to change consistently between several states.

Imagine someones arm/forehead, or whatever attached to a molecule tester like Micheal’s? I bet you wish we had access to something that we could do Biofeedback experiments on that told us what molecules we were emitting at any given moment?

Cheers,

 Quicksilver.

P.S. I won’t nomally ask for this, but if you liked this post, please dole out some of your precious reputation points for it.  Thanks!
