I have noticed that in a lot of people’s journals on here they fail to document a control group, and no I’m not talking about a dry day but several dry days prior to starting their mones.
The problem with this is, once you start using the mones(especially with intent on making a journal) you are going to be paying increased attention to detail. You will also be documenting how this differs from before you started using mones. Now I’ve seen most people just state that before so and so didn’t open up as much and so on, but that wasn’t documented. Did they NEVER open up, or was it every once in awhile? Did you pay attention to if they got happier or talkative around you BEFORE you started using the mones? You don’t know because you never payed that close of attention before. Now your attention to detail is substantially increased over what it was prior.
Basically what I’m saying is that there are always irregularities in your day. Someone will always do something they didn’t normally do or be in a random mood to open up. Without proper documentation, like people are starting after beginning their journals, you have no control group with which to contrast the true difference they are making.
So to fix this you need to have a trial period before you start use. say the 3-5 days before between getting your gc and the shipment arriving. When documenting, act like you have something on to test. In other words, pretend you have the mones on already, because when you get the mones you will want to test it right? And in order to test it you are going to maybe try making a convo when you normally wouldn’t. This gives you a greater chance for irregularities where before you wouldn’t have had it. If you don’t account for this in the control group it adds another variable (besides mones) that is affecting how your day runs.
Also, try to make this documentation mone specific for what the product you will be testing is supposed to change. If it makes people open make sure to note every person who opens up to you on a normal basis and how open they are in the control period.
Now, once you have your product you have at least a somewhat strong basis to cast the changes against. Ex, before starting it seemed that maybe 6 people opened up, now that has increased to 7 or 8 people and detail has increased. This is a much more valid explanation than then I got home and my girlfriend couldn’t wait to open up to me. Anyone who knows statistics can tell you one outcome is not sufficient to validate a conclusion on the whole of a system. The average is much more important.
Oh and of course try to avoid realizing that you actually aren’t wearing the mones and therefore skewing the results to make it seem alittle less during this phase. I know i always have a problem with this because I’m scared that the product might not help as much as it is supposed to so I make my life seem just alittle worse beforehand. That is biasness at work. haha
Anyway, this is just something that I noticed and thought I would speak my mind. Thoughts?
