Q about diffusion of oil-based products

I am curious about the diffusion of oil products such as A314.. If we are working on “diffusing” the pheros around, how are the oils supposed to be affective?

Oil bases will diffuse pheros, just not as fast or - to some degree - as far. They last longer on the skin, all else being equal, so they’re better than alcohol bases for hot climates.

A product like A314 can last up to 12 hours or so on the skin, while Shine lasts only 3-4 hours and most of the rest of the Instant line lasts about 6 hours.

So are there any specifics as to how far the products will diffuse? And also, does covering them with cologne improve their diffusion, or do they still cling to the skin?

There are user reports about how far different scents diffuse - for the women I think chocolatini diffuses farthest; on me it diffuse about 6 feet while the others diffuse about 3 feet.

A314 in my experience diffuses about 1-2 feet. To my mind, though, self-effect is a pretty important factor so even if those around you aren’t consciously smelling them, your pheromones are still playing a role in your interaction.

I don’t think that covering pheromones with other fragrance will hurt diffusion unless you’re applying a large amount of oil perfume over an alcohol spray application - unlikely since with an alcohol spray you are making broad sweeps over a large expanse, while perfume oil would usually be applied to pulse points.

Notwithstanding the self-effect,

Then, how is the A314 supposed to give you a James Bond aura (for the guys, anyway)? I mean, people would have to practically sit on your lap to get the effect…

I am not knocking it.. just curious about technical stuff.

Well, it really does not diffuse much. That’s partly why I think self-effect is all important with A314.

It makes you feel and act like James Bond. It’s all in how you carry yourself, and that can be seen across a football field. You’re not going to be smelled across the boardroom when you wear it, but you’ll command attention nonetheless.

Carrie,

You are totally clearing this up for me..

So where would you suggest to apply A314 to affect self?

upper lip!

there is also a spray version of A314 that would diffuse better - MX102, and one for women, MX134, and several A314 variations in spray format - I like MX105.

I just got A314 and MX134,

The A314 is for my husband, mainly.. I’m sure I’ll dip into it myself..

I also got him Ammo, which we both really like, do you think that applying A314 on the neck and then spraying some Ammo would work for diffusion, or do you also think that he should try the upper lip?

And another coupla dumb question from me:

When people say, upper lip, do you mean above the upper lip where you can’t lick, or do you actually mean the upper lip,

And, when people say, wrists, does that mean on the outside, or inside where the pulse points are?

Funny thing, I wore Mx134 for the first time yesterday while teaching (I teach kids in a private setting) because I read that 134 is good for teachers.. and 2 of my students ended up crying without me being mean whatsoever..

Hmmmm, Interesting reaction…

By upper lip, I meant under the nose - not on the mouth.

Putting A314 on the neck is fine, it’ll still affect him. Using it with Ammo should be okay but I have no experience with Ammo … Lor would know

For the wrists, pulse points are usually what’s meant, although I find that things last longer on the backs of the wrists because the skin is thicker there, so you could go either way.

Interesting about your students crying … how young are they? They might have found a change in your signature discomforting somehow. I can imagine MX134 might make you come off as less warm and soft, more dominant.

With a314 I’ll apply a bit to neck, and a bit to wrists. That allows for some “self-effects” (although I’ve yet to notice any self effects on me from any product) and when on wrists, it allows you to wave them closer to your “targets” and get them sniffing it.

Most of my “encounters” have been in realtively close quarters/proximity. My “target groups” are usually within 6 feet of me. And sometimes there is a breeze or air circulation that spreads things around. Not sure if those who are at the farthest points away from me are all that affected by the pheromones. They may simply be picking up on the behavior of the others closer to me who may be being affected.
