I finally received my new bottles of ammo with the latest scent packages… (And before I go any further I just want to thank Steve and Mickaelia for helping me adjust my order several times, you guys are the best!)
Anyway I was looking at the label of my ammo FF22 world edition bottle and I noticed that the version number is labeled as 1.8, while my FF21/standard ammo is labeled at 1.0. I assume the difference in version number is because the scents are different, right? …Or is there a difference in formulation?
Yeppers — And thanks for asking the question. I was hoping someone would, so I have the opportunity to clarify.
Both Ammos have the exact same phero formulation. It’s the scent that’s different.
It wasn’t supposed to fly out the door with “1.8” at the bottom, though. It should have been released with a slightly different version number, something like, “1.0.2”, or 1.0.3", since they are still 1.0’s pheromone formula, but not the same scent. The ".2, and “.3” should have covered scent.
Entirely new version numbers are typically reserved for major phero formula changes. Since Ammo didn’t really go through a major phero formula change, it really shouldn’t be a different version numbers. 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, and 1.5 are all vastly different, pheromone wise. If we were ever to release any of those formulas again, it should be under the same version number, with a “.x” tacked on to the end, to signify a scent change.
However, fulfillment didn’t get that memo before they started mass producin’ and stickering, so we’re caught with a new version number.
I will post up a large “Changelog” documenting the different dates and details of the different products versions when I get a chance – but compiling all that info takes us a while, since a lot of those notes and batch logs are in old school physical form, in one of those old school bank boxes.
…I have no clue why, but when ever I see you or Michael pulling back the curtains and talking about this sort of inside stuff I always find it fascinating.
The interesting thing is that I’ve heard of the TAA enhanced Ammo, version 1.5, but I never knew there was a 1.1-1.4.
Ammo 1.1 - 1.4 were made a LooooOOOong time ago, far before the MX system was even formalized. (I think we may have even backnumbered them MX numbers retroactively, but I don’t remember what those are. It would be like, MX50 or something like that.)
Some Androtics OLDDD Timers may remember those pre-MX mixes. We had stuff like “The Great Androstenone Experiment” (a -none 6 pack – 6 different mixes investigating what “punched” up the good none effects and “kicked out” the bad ones), and this Experimental Ammo pack.
A lot of that early work made its way into future MXs and products. We would have DIED without the information we learned with the Great Androstenone Experiment. That one was impossibly useful for us. I wouldn’t be surprised if you see a new one come out with the new molecules we’ve been working with, that we just didn’t have access to or discover back then.
And hey, If you have any good suggestions on which molecules pair great with -none, lemme know!!
