Arthur C Clarke died today ![]()
Sad news, indeed. Thank you for posting this link and givng me the chance to reflect on how much I’ve enjoyed Clarke’s writing.
He lived an incredible life. He and Asimov were so prescient it was difficult at times to know where the fiction ended and reality began.
Renny - thats about what i was thinking - two of the greats I grew up with gone so close together.
Another great loss.
Now, how will the real world’s scientists know in which direction to go?
didnt he have something to do with radar. good man. moment of ciber-silence…all do respect ![]()

Don’t know about the radar, but in 1945 he suggested that a satellite 45,000 miles above the earth would be geostationary and usable as a communications satellite. The book was The Sentinel written in 1948.![]()
