Safety comes first in High Potency Chemistry. The reality of potent molecules

I think one of the things people often overlook with Direct or pheromones in general, is that although pheromones seem to be quite safe in quantities used in consumer products… they’re really not safe at all in production quantities. Special handling is ALWAYS required.

Most pheromones are the end result of hormone metabolism, or themselves lead a double life as hormones.

These are unusually “active” molecules.

They are part of what is called High Potency chemistry.

This is why safety always comes first. Always.

And proper safety procedure is not a speedy thing. Just like pre-flight checklists that airlines following are not a speedy thing. Yet they are an essential element to making things happen properly.

Please see this article concerning high potency chemistry and some of the necessary safety precautions necessary:

In this article, you see a photo that looks ridiculous, but this is how some of the core labs that make these compounds operate.

Anyone involved in the manufacturing of our products themselves wears ridiculous looking safety gear. Just not as ridiculous as what you find the ACS article.

The level of safety required is part and parcel of why the compounds we buy are so expensive, and why it is slow for us (and everyone else) to work with them properly.

This is not the same as working with chocolate or fabric. Not at all.

Kindly adjust your expectations to how things actually are. A rush job here or there can mean death for someone else.

In fact, the man who originally owned our primary supplier died of a very rare form of brain cancer. Little slip ups here and there can mean excessive exposure to very real dangers.

This is why moving the bulk of the business to a model where we create a bulk of safe to handle, “off the shelf” product will be good. Not only can we fulfill them much faster, final product is much safer and quicker for the entire chain.

The downside of this is that there’s still so much more to learn… and learning requires the tools we’ve made for enthustiasts and scientists.

This issue is one key reason that even scientists sometimes opt to buy premade ExperiMones, rather than handling the bulk quantities of powdered or crystalline product themselves. We empowered quite a few professors to focus more on the science they wanted to do, rather than to worry excessively over safety issues that apply when handling the raw versions.

Also kindly watch this wonderfully produced video on what can happen when small slip-ups are made when handling potent compounds:

It’s almost Sherlock style, and quite fun to watch. He has many videos like this that are definitely worth the watch.

I hope you better understand now the nature of these compounds when handled in bulk quantities.

It’s an important consideration when dealing with ANY organization that deals with these compounds. May they all stay safe.

I work in a bit similar environment. PPE needs to be used at all times due to hazards related to handling large quantities of compounds. Some of them are harmless when added to a formula in small quantity, but the story is different when you handle large quantities of multiply compounds at the same time in one place… working in such environment can be compared to defusing a bomb. You do it wrong and your dead.
