I have stopped using soe for a couple of years now since I discovered androtics and started using IS and IH and CTTM2. I’m thinking about picking up soe again so I was wondering what everybody thought about the effectiveness of soe vs. the instant line.
for me, I always prefer spray format over oil. easier to apply, more flexible and excellent diffusion rates = obvious hits. and I’ve gotten really good hits off IH and cttm2.
but soe, even tho in oil form, seems to be holding its ground pretty well against the spray format Instant line. everywhere I turn I see nothing but great reviews of soe, here and LS both.
so I’m thinking maybe I could combine soe with the Instant line to get even more pronounced results, or is that just redundant overkill?
Scent of Eros definitely is a great product and has always been a favourite of mine while I was mainly using LS products. In fact, I think it’s the best product LS has to offer!
All the products that you’ve mentioned are a little different from each other: Instant Openness is mainly a-Androstenol, Instant Honesty mainly b-Androstenol, CTTM has an equal amount of a-Androstenol and b-Androstenol and Scent of Eros is mainly a-Androstenol with some added Androsterone. I like the effects of the sprays more, because the effect on myself is more pronounced compared to SoE. And I’m not a big fan of the roller top of SoE, because over time the content becomes contaminated (which could affect it’s effectiveness imo) and it’s harder to get an exact dosage. Oh, and I’ve always used the unscented version, because I don’t like the scented at all - smells too much like ‘old man’ for me…
Oh, almost forgot: I don’t think that it would make much sense to combine SoE with IO, IH or CTTM. The results you get from them a quite similar. The added -rone in SoE might give you a little added respect, but you can achieve this with some other product like IG, A314 or one of the A314-spray mixes, too…
SOE is a great product but for me it is still a little different from the Androtics Instant lines. I will actually use IH with SOE. I know Gegogi uses it often to the point of daily.

I guess the biggest advantage of SoE over the Androtics nol products is that it’s in oil base - so it will probably provide a longer effect, although not as intense as in an alcohol base.
Bob nailed it. Scent of Eros lasts many hours whereas the sprays fade quickly and need to be refreshed more often. However, the sprays have a more immediate in-your-face effect. I like and use both formats. However, if I could have only one, I’d probably choose Scent of Eros. Scent of Eros makes a great combo with A314 when you’re stuck with a long day at work with no downtime to refresh. Also the mellower nature of Scent of Eros is better for professional environments. And, yes, like the Boss, I’ve also used Scent of Eros with Instant Honesty: you get the immediate in your face effect of Instant Honesty and the long lasting but mellower signature of Scent of Eros. Not redundant at all in my experience.
The Scent of Eros contamination issue is easy to solve: transfer some of the contents in an old A314 or EO bottle and use drops. Or partially fill an old Scent of Eros bottle (1/4 full). Thus the mother ship remains pure and the smaller amount in the "satellite bottle builds up little contamination due to the smaller volume. Or, shave your application points and scrub with washcloth…
Incidentally, the Scent of Eros gels tend to dissipate more quickly and are similar to sprays. Personally I suspect the androsterone (20%) of Scent of Eros mellows or buffers and alpha Androstenol. People are not as motor-mouth bound due to the hint of masculine alpha vibe.
I got a new bottle of SOE in the mail the other day (along with some NPA). There are tiny nuances between SOE and Instant Openness, though both essentially serve the same purpose. SOE does feel a little ‘bolder’…perhaps a little more masculine than Instant Openness. Instant Openness seems more high energy and uplifting, SOE has a bit more depth.
The androsterone in SOE definitely noticeable now that I’ve had a chance to revisit it. Oil based SOE feels different in delivery than alcohol based IO. Oil based mixes tend to feel a bit smoother, though the effects (unless at really high doses) aren’t as pronounced. Alcohol based products produce more pronounced effects, but can be a little erratic (less of an issue with alpha nol though). Definitely saw a lot of this when playing with oil based A314 vs alcohol based A314.
