Day 7, 09.jun – last final.

Another thing I’ve learned, which should have been obvious. Don’t try anything new on an important day. I am still cheating  so I applied one IS 2x to my wrists/neck, one IH 2x to my nape, and one IS/b to my chest. In 20-30 minutes I started getting a headache – tension from studying and the impending test or scent, I don’t know. The classmate I always sit next to on transit and in class hasn’t asked about a “new perfume,” but I thought she was going to kiss me on the way back! (She was making a joke like she was going to beat me up, and pulled me close by my backpack straps.) (She’s also straight, getting married in two weeks, and has volunteered things I’d consider best-friend level confidence long before I started this.)

Three of us went to happy hour and ice cream after that. It was fun, but nothing “out of the ordinary.”

Day 8 – 10.jun

I had a 1pm meeting with my Chair who’s also my adviser, to clear up a misunderstanding the TA Supervisor had. (Why that guy doesn’t just talk to me, I don’t know, but he’s the high-strung one. The first “superior” I truly stood my ground with last term.)

One spray 2x IH (nape) and one 2x IS (wrists/chest/neck).

The misunderstanding was a non-issue–that and a sheet of paper work took maybe 5 minutes. A review of the new class he organized and discussion of my potential research took 40. I want to start NOW.

I got so many other errands done after that: set up an appointment I’d had to delay, bought groceries, picked up books at the library (where I offered to take a picture of a lady with her daughter when she was taking one of her kid – something I’d normally do), and easily “forced” myself to make a joke at a yawning young-but-not-really-cute man. (All walking.)

For a a 6:30 date with the cuddly guy, I added one IS/b 1x to my chest. FANTASTIC Thai food, and then more date until about 3:30. (For the first time being called “insatiable” sounded like a good thing.)

Day 9, 11.Jun

I was aiming for one IH 2x (nape), and one IS 2x (wrists, neck, chest) but I screwed it up and did one IS/b (chest) and one IS 2x wrists/neck with the IH 2x (nape). (Schedule should get more “normal” tomorrow.)
I made my fantastic (impossibly quick & easy) french toast. We went for an urban hike through an “arboretum” and played on the swings, slide, and teeter totter. Then a restaurant and a snuggly night of watching Big Bang Theory (since I was umm, still overexerted).

(Edit follows)
Oh, and throughout the day, we actually talked about some of the normal date stuff – activities and interests. Although, I’d been meaning to bring this up. I’m afraid he’s not going to want to try new things enough; that I’d always have to be the social instigator.

Day 10, 12.Jun–Day Off (from everything!)

No pheromones today. Stayed home in bed, reading, and cleaning all day. I deserved it.

General summary of my recent life:*
I’ve been trying to improve my social skills and notice “hits” on my own for months before I came across this site.
*
Are they open and friendly ?
In general, I am open and friendly, so my impression is the people I interact with tend to reflect be open and friendly as well. (I’m not sure I can remember a single surly person. Then again, I tend to discount strangers’ surliness as their problem, not mine.)

Are they intimidated ?
I never think anyone would be intimidated by me, but I’m told some people would be intimidated by my intelligence, my education, and the fact that I’m happy and outgoing. Which is just silly.

Do they acknowledge your presence ?
Yes. In fact, especially in stores–I can wear blue in Target and get asked for assistance. Even when I’m feeling (and probably looking) completely lost and puzzled. Also on sidewalks, when I am lost or uncertain – people ask me where things are.

People I know almost always wave or say hello. The others seem to be engrossed in their phone or music.

Do strangers generally talk to you ?
Strangers often will smile, say hi, good morning, etc. Most baristas and checkers are chatty and not just professionally friendly.

Are people in a great mood when hanging around you ?
Yes. In fact, I think that’s why I keep some friends. And why small groups of them come to my parties. It’s always fun, and some silliness usually entwines with the philosophical digressions.

Do people treat you with respect ?
I think so. Strangers do for the most part – well depends on the venue. Friendly acquaintances definitely. People with chips on their shoulders, not as much.

Are guy/girls open to your approach ?
I have no idea.

Day 11, 13.June

I saw a guy in the elevator holding a book, so I asked him what he was studying. (Age-acceptable, but shorter than me and too burly for my taste – not “uncute.”)

“Biology, but wanting to change to pre-med” led us to discuss some of the options and similarities in our studies. I was in a hurry to get to my physical therapy, so couldn’t talk long. Even though he was walking my direction, I was just walking too fast. Then I realized – I’d been in SUCH a hurry, I’d not sprayed anything on myself today, even though I’d planned to actually start the sweet spot testing.

I’m breaking out of my shell on my own!

A first date tonight with “Tn” so I will try one spray of IS/b.

Day 10, 12.June – Impromptu date w “Pl”

Ok, so I ended up with a date tonight after all. One shot of IS/b to my chest. I don’t know if I’m more comfortable with myself, or it’s the mones, but I’m more comfortable with aggressive initiation after that stage is established.

A different lotion today (bitter orange, not honey), and the fragrance in the mones is almost harmonious.

That brings me to a question I cannot find discussed through the “search”: What does lotion, either applied under or over, do to the mones?

The date – I finally remembered to stand up from the table for a greeting-hug. It was nice chatting over some of my favorite spicy Thai food. He’d forgotten where he parked the car, where his friend’s bar was, that it was closed on Monday, that the alternate bar is closed on Monday (I’m new in town and it was his neighborhood – a bit too sketchy to just randomly pick a place.) Finally we ended up in an empty place with bad drinks. The band tuning up at the end was great, but by then, I was just tired. A ride home; he gave me a hug and a peck on the cheek in the car, saying something about doing this again.

On that note – how do you tell? How do you know when this is a person you want to see again, as opposed to just not being against it. How do you know that you want exclusivity, too?

Too soon to tell, I’d say, hon. Give it time to develop. How long have you been seeing him?

The cuddly guy? Two weeks. And something like 6 independent, overnight dates. (He’s nice, sweet, affectionate, considerate, makes me laugh some, but his major hobbies are stamp collecting, walking, and kite flying. I love silly things like flying kites, but I’m more of a roller coasters and white water rafting kind of girl.) I’m thinking he’s going to address “exclusivity” soon, but I think it’s too early for me. This is not the speed I thought I’d approach.

The date tonight – I just don’t feel “chemistry” but I was overly tired and kinda (internally) cranky that the bars were lame. I didn’t try to break the touch barrier, but that was because I wasn’t sure I wanted him to think I liked him that much. Seems that’s part of my hesitance, that I want to not mislead people.

I think maybe your hesitance is your subconscious trying to tell you that you’re just not that into this guy. With my hubby, I KNEW. Real soon quick. Like, I met him in mid-Sept and by Christmas was telling old friends I’d found the guy I wanted to marry.

It doesn’t always happen soon. But if you’re just not feeling chemistry, and his interests and yours don’t align in some fashion (not just “I think that’s cute”), then the relationship is probably not going anywhere.

Of course, my opinion and $5 might get you a cup of coffee…

YAY!!! Congratulations!

I agree. Completely. I also think the “not wanting to mislead” is easily mistaken as “friend zone” reticence. Think how you’d react with the same attitude and vibe coming across the table or bar at you. We all jump to erroneous conclusions framed by our own experiences and processes. :open_mouth: Not an accurate way to gauge conditions.

Same, same and not as much as $5 here in the Bux, Seattle’s Best and Tullys capital. So for me adjust that dollar value to $3.50

I almost NEVER feel instant connection – I think I’m either naturally “slower” than “modern” daters, or I’m overly worried about impression being mistaken for intent. (I forgot to mention that for once, I did not move away when our knees momentarily grazed – this is progress!)

I just don’t understand what this means.

I’m not sure about whom you’re speaking. Mr. Cuddles (he calls himself cuddly long before I ever did ) did say he’ be into trying rafting and other “adventurous” things, so I am willing to see how that goes, and I’m worried it may be the wrong person – yes parts of my brain overrule me at times.

I am immensely enjoying your posts! Replying to subscribe.

Thank you!

Day 12, 14.June – Dear gods kill me 5 hours ago!

Ok, I can see the problem with sweet spot testing – I wanted to skip today! I didn’t. One IS/b to the chest, dabbed my wrists on the spray central, like I did yesterday.

I rode transit for ~1 hour each way, and there were a couple guys that I got smiles from in return.

I had a hike with a “friend” that had been a former dating possibility. I’d figured that was (thankfully) behind us as he’d said a couple weeks ago, “since we’re not dating…” (He’s the one that repeats complaints, and is patronizingly “helpful.”)

This “hike” turned out to be flat, paved, and ≤ 2 miles. :frowning: He complained the whole time. I told him he was complaining too much (he’d mentioned other dates not working out). It wore me out. I think he tried to kiss me in the car (during the hug). :open_mouth:

I think I’m starting to see what’s going on with the guys around you. lol

How’s that? Insight helps!

Gurlfren, you come across as adorable. Plus you’re racked, stacked and from the pic, cute as well. Just the oblivious thing probably kills them; and adds cuteness factors exponentially.

I’m a girl, straight and not interested in changing teams. That being said; You seriously have me giggling with affection - and I don’t even know you! (IRL) I don’t understand how no guys have ‘got it’ with you just yet. :open_mouth::open_mouth::open_mouth:

Hence my utter confusion! I even have a number of guys who’ve asked me how is it I’m single. :open_mouth:

And Thanks!
