I don’t have unusually sensitive skin, I have not had problems with any cologne or pheromones before (and I have used many different ones).
From a drop of A314 to the front of my neck I get an unpleasant rash. The application area turns red and feels hot and a bit painful within 5 minutes. It takes at least an hour to subside.
If I apply it to the back of the neck, the reactions is still there but not so bad. Applying to the wrists works fine, but does not make much sense with long sleeves in winter. Using the back of the hands means that I can not wash my hands properly - don’t like that.
Has anybody experienced similar problems - any suggestions for a solution?
A314 is a great product and I certainly want to continue using it!
I have never experienced any sort of reactions with any of the products. However I have no allergies whatsoever. Catlord claims that he is not allergic to anything; it is evident though that P79 gives him “bake face,” lol. I cannot vouch for what you say of A314 though as you are especially the first person I’ve seen post this about it on the forum. Looking forward to any other findings you may have on your pheremonal experiences.
Rob, I am not allegic to anything on my skin (well, I thought I wasn’t). When I read Catlord’s description of “bake face”, it imagined it was more a blood circulation thing caused be an internal reaction to the pheromones, rather than an allergic reaction on the skin. But I may be wrong.
For me it’s a very obvious allergic reaction. I just haven’t had that before. So I am wondering which of the substances in A314 causes it and how to prevent it…
I’m glad you like A314’s effects, but I’m sorry that you had a skin reaction!
It’s probably not the pheromones doing that. A314 contains natural plant essential oils. Natural oils can be wonderful, but certain ones can cause allergic reactions on some people.
Not a problem. We’ll exchange your bottle for one that uses an alternate blend of oils.
Yes, A314 is great and will probably become my everyday base product, together with Instant Shine.
I agree, it’s probably one of the oils.
Right now I am using a bottle which I got from l-s. The bottle I ordered from you is still on the way. The difference, I understand, is the source of the pheromones, so I assume the oils are the same. By the way I found the best cover scent for A314 to be Gucci Envy. A314 and Envy complement each other perfectly, on my skin at least.
I will try the A314 that’s on the way from you and tell you if I get the same skin reaction…
I have the A314 white cap formula , I notice a slight itching feeling when applied to the neck area . But no rash , i’M ASSUMING it’s the oil carrier. I do like the effects of A314 WHT CAP , I have not tried the regular formula yet.
I would call the skin on the front and sides of my neck very thin, if that makes any sense. Cutting it when shaving has always been very easy. It’s somehow much more sensitive than the back of the neck or even the wrists. I just never got a allergic reaction before, even though I have used a lot of different pheromones as well as a couple of EOs. So I am curious which one I react to…
One thought would be shaving. I sometimes get an irritation reaction if I’ve gotten carried away a bit while shaving or when adapting to a new(or newer) razor or blade. I default to a Norelco Rotary style which works well for me. I save the blade shaves for “special occasions” or before traveling as it seems to last pleant long and I don’t have to sweat fuzz on the chin after a long day at the airport.
I just picked up a new Norelco cuz it was $2 cheaper than buying replacement blades for my pretty darn older one, and even that “improvement” has caused some irritation. Woouldn’t have thought it would as bad as it did…
Yes I agree. I feel like I am always shaving off a layer off skin cells…
But I get the allergy reaction from A314 also in the sides of my neck, where I am not shaving (just not as strong as on the front).
I own a314, it also gave me a mild skin reaction, mind you, my skin is not normaly sensitive to colognes or other essential oils, I pretty much own every pheromone product on the market, at least the good brand ones, none have given me any skin rashes in years of use, this one did. I stopped using it after 1 week. I might try a jojoba or almond oil base, then apply a314, see how that goes..
Oh, thanks. Good to know that I am not the only one who has this problem.
I have no made some experiments for different application areas. It works around my ears. It also works in my hair of cause and it does not look oily, but it feels oily and since I have very short nice hair and girls love to touch it, it would be a disaster if it feels fatty like I need a shower…
If I could spread it all over my hair, I guess those 3 drops of oil will be al right, maybe mix it into some gel… (which I don’t normally use).
Here is my plan for the next couple of days: One drop shared around both ears, one drop shared to sides of neck and one drop spread through hair as much as possible. That should work!
Wow! I just feel an “A314 high” after I have just done the test applications
Application to the hair - beard, moustache or head - works well for dispersal, and avoids skin contact. Beard and moustache application also affect YOU more.
Yes catlord, it works very well! But with an oil product, even 2 hours after application, if I touch the hair, I have oil on my fingers. Not good for touchy interaction with girls…
Because natural oils never smell exactly the same (much as wine never tastes the same year to year), we figured we’d work with that and always make new batches of oils to go into each microbatch of A314. Regardless of where you bought A314 from, the oils change about every 250 bottles or 500 bottles, depending on how much of a certain oil blend we had. So far, we’ve had around 30 oil changes now since the introduction of A314.
Here where we’re selling direct to consumers, so we’re also interested in using more expensive oils and different types of oils. This is the same thing fashion companies do like Just Cavalli, Armani, BCBG, Gianfranco Ferre, Donna Karan, etc. They all have a line for department stores, which require a certain amount of markup, and a different, higher end line for their own stores. They give you the most they can, given what’s financially possible. (This is not to knock department or retail stores at all. Multibrand retail stores can be more convenient, because they have a greater selection)
The current shipping version of A314 contains a light Indonesian agarwood. It’s reinforced with a very small (and barely smellable, so don’t worry about it’s use in the office) amount of real whale ambergris, real deer musk, real (and what smells like some synthetic) rose and some other nice oils. It’s all stuff that we’d never be able to sell through a distributor, because of financial considerations.
We didn’t end up liking the light Indonesian agarwood as much as the natural perfumer that sold it claimed we would, so the current batch is actually limited to 90 bottles. (the upside is that we’re not charging anymore for the current version of A314, despite the more expensive oils)
The A314 version we’re really looking forward to is the “Royal Edition”. It’ll sell for more than regular A314, but it contains some of the nicest plant and (no kill) animal oils that we’ve ever smelled. We call them “Royal Oils”, because they’re truly fit fot a king. I don’t know what % of Royal Oils we can incorporate into A314 itself (it depends on how much people are willing to pay), but almost everyone who’s smelled the concentrated Royal Oil blend falls into a nearly hypnotic stupor and says that the experience tickles them with delight down to their very soul.
I had a new friend over (Yanette) last night who went nuts smelling just a drop of the concentrated Royal Oils alone, without any pheromones added. Even alone, they’re just gorgeous. They take you to another time, another world.
We don’t mention it on the website anywhere, but we’re now sending out free Royal Oil samples with A314 purchases. Your order may have gone in before we did that, but I’d still be happy to get a sample into your hands if it sounds interesting to you.
Also, I would definitely like to replace your bad bottle of A314. I love our customers and want them happy as a clam (with no skin irritation!) Just private message me about a replacement, or give me a call sometime.
I get a rash too. It’s definitely the stuff in the EO’s that A314 is mixed in.
I get really itchy and red around my neck when I put it on. And it doesn’t subside till I wash it off. If i put it on my wrist, no rash occurs. It’s just that the skin on your neck’s different than the wrist.
When I spray MX102 on my neck , it’s ok. Same pheromones. So it’s definitely not da mones causing that.
I’ve had that effect with oil based stuff…including Alter Ego. THat one gives me a massive rash. I just put up with it.
Here’s a little tip. If u wanna reduce the allergic reactions..put tons of skin moisturiser on your neck prior to applying A314. Say 10 mins before. If you have enough on, it should reduce the rash significantly. But most of the time i can’t be farked doing this so I just apply it on the neck straight, but applied very thinly.
Yes, I agree. I will work together with Jasmine and see if we a solution for myself and this solutions might work for others like you who have the same problem. Using a spray is not a solution for me, I love the time release qualities of the oil base.
I don’t. I have been using lots of Alter Ego, Primal Instinct, APC and various pure EOs (from Mysore sandalwood all the way to some fake synthetic stuff) - didn’t get any skin reaction.
That’s cool, I will try that, thanks!
Last night I found a way to use 4 drops of A314 while keeping it away from my front and sides of neck and hair: I put one drop on each temple, right under the hairline, and spread it in front of the ear and then downwards / back towards the back of the neck. I shared an other drop between both ears and just rubbed it all over my ears. The 4th drop I shared between the back of my hands (had long sleeves on).
Before I went to a restaurant, I added some Instant Shine, Instant Honesty and Instant Female Magic. I was early so I waited for my friend, sat down at a table and had a drink. On the next table was a couple. After 3 minutes, the lady from the next table started chatting to me - she kept finding more and more reasons to talk to me until my friend came. It was pretty funny and unusual (I have never seen this happening before). There was nothing else unusual happening the rest of the night, as far as I noticed - but this one thing was clearly a pheromone effect!
