Social Proofing at Work with MX297 + P130

This night wasn’t even supposed to happen. This past Friday, I resigned myself to having a chilled-out night at home. All my close friends already settled down, and making plans with them has become like pulling teeth. There were no events with any of my interest-based social groups, either. So after I left work, I went to the gym to fill time. Then I picked up a 40 of beer and some chicken wings, and two comedies from RedBox on the way home. By 9:00 PM, I planned to sit down in front of the TV with the beer and wings.

Then my friend (female) sends me a text:
“wanna see a cover band tonight @ 10”
“What band? Where?” (20 minutes later, to avoid seeming eager)
<gives me answers> (less than 1 minute later)
“I’m in! But not until 10:30” (this was a fib: the bar was half hour away, and I was pretty much ready, but I wanted to look all alpha and busy)
“see u!”

Before jumping in my car, I put on the following:
MX297: 2 sprays, 1 on each temple
P130: 2 sprays, 1 on each cheek

Self
Contrary, to MX297’s normal vibe, I found myself feeling quite listless on the way over. For a few moments, I almost wished I was back home, watching TV while drinking my beer. Then, when I was 5 minutes away from the bar, two things happened: (1) The street went from dark to lit up by a warm amber glow of streetlights, and (2) the song “Cheap Thrills” by Sia came on the radio. These things totally flipped a switch! I became very pumped and happy. I parked my car, and went inside to meet my friend.

Friend
Demographics: Caucasian, early 20’s
I actually met her through my movie group, and we hit it off almost instantly, although as friends. I tried to escalate before, only to hit a brick wall. (We talked it out, and all was well.) I was disappointed at first, but she adds real value to my life as a friend, so I’m happy to have her around. Especially considering that she doesn’t exhibit any friend zone behaviors, like complain to me about guys who broke her heart, or ask me for rides without reimbursing for gas. Possible reason for that is me putting up a semblance of an alpha frame around her. I know she’s single.

I saw my friend, and we hit the dance floor in front of the stage. Throughout the night, she engaged in behaviors that felt almost more than friendly. Like full-body hugs, playful slaps, raunchy banter, dancing cheek-to-cheek, etc. She’s done that before even without pheromones, although not every time we hang out. Maybe she wants more, but is holding back due to our age difference. Either way, I value the friendship enough to not want to push her away. After all, good friends, male or female, are hard to find. Plus, who knows where the friendship will go? Not necessarily turning into romance, but rather adding value to my life in the future.

Other people in the bar
Demographics: mostly Caucasian, 35 thru 60, few young people
Wow! Everybody was treating me and my “date” like we were king and queen. Other couples were giving us room to dance. Groups of older women started conversations with us. One woman complimented my friend on her blouse. Men generally left her alone. One older man tried to dance with her grinding-style; I saw him, grabbed her by the hand, and dragged her away. Honestly, since she’s not my girlfriend, I technically didn’t need to do that, but I just wanted to out-alpha him, as well as keep her safe.

The cover band, which played disco music, started passing around funny paper hats among the audience. One group of older women from earlier took two matching hats, put them on me and my date, then complimented us on how we look, and offered to take our picture. One of the performers even photobombed us when we were taking a selfie. We pretty much became the most popular couple on the dance floor—without actually being a couple.

Conclusion
For a night that wasn’t even supposed to happen, it went smashingly! I had a lot of fun, and my friend texted me next day to say thanks for coming out. I later learned that it was a spontaneous decision on her part too. In my case, I think I had two things working in my favor: (1) wearing a strong party pheromone, and (2) being there with an attractive young woman. And no one had to know the truth that she was just a friend. I’m sure she felt more comfortable with me there too.

Additional information
I noticed that streetlights play a big role in my pheromone (mis)adventures. From being mesmerized by them when heading home after a sex session, to them affecting my mood on the way over while wearing pheromones. The effect seems to be the strongest with the amber-glowing ones. I wonder why.

The floor is open for questions and comments!

Anyone?

Do you think social proofing was at work here, when that girl was on the dance floor with me? Or was it just the pheromones, and she was just playing a supporting role there?
