Been a while. So, I never did get around to typing up Lady Tester’s reports on some of the new putatives, although I’ve mentioned her reaction to P95 in my P95 review here. She really liked it, so did I. She hated P91 though. It made her feel like, as she put it, “we’re cool for right now, but you’re really pushing it.” It also made her say that through clenched teeth, for the record. Said it made her feel like she was expected to prove herself, which made her internal response “who the fuck do you think you are?” Interesting stuff.
In the interest of science, I took a little bit of Instant Shine that was left in the old bottle (when the new bottle arrived) and added a few drops of DPG, and about twelve drops of Glucan P-20 (that’s the fixative I was referring to before, incidentally. It’s not the only trick up my sleeve, but I’ve tested it enough to feel like I have a grip on how its effects on scents behave) As expected, it reduced potency by about 20% but longevity was impressive. Weird, but impressive. Basically, it would come and go all day, for about…8 hours or so? I could tell because I wore it by itself one day, and I would smell it, then not smell it, then smell it, then not smell it…and also because I put on enough to give myself a headache since I wasn’t sure about potency. Same thing - headache would come, and go, and come, and go. Not completely, mind you - it was always present to a certain degree (smell, I mean) but it would suddenly “bloom” every so often, about once an hour or so. This was on my elbows, so lots of movement.
