I have a friend, female, age 26, who I like to get to smell various pheromones and give me her impressions. I don’t tell her anything about them beforehand, but she’s very good at giving me detailed descriptions of how things make her react. Oddly enough, she’s also very good at giving me descriptions which match up with reported effects of various things, or observed effects of various things - and while it isn’t a double-blind test or anything I’m trying to provide as little prior info or cues as possible. So I recently got her to smell some putatives & mixes, here are her observations collected over several test sessions(for future reference she will be known as Lady K):
P102 - “This makes me hungry and a little sick to my stomach, like pot” (she gets violently ill when exposed to even small amounts of marijuana)
P74 - “This makes me feel more awake, almost a little manic-y. I feel like I could go off on a tangent really easily”
P83 - “Wow, that made me feel disassociated for a second, but now it just makes everything feel a little surreal. I feel a little detached from consequence, I guess. Like they’re still there, but I’m not as worried about them.”
P75 - “Mmmmmm…that smells [grabbed it back from my hand] - this one is complex. I feel like, the person wearing this could protect me. I’m all giggly and girly, it makes me want to wear a dress. You should wear this one by itself around [girl of interest]. But not at work. Definitely not at work, it’s too flirty.” (It also made her pupils dilate and she was blushing.)
Ammunition - “Oh, that smells intimidating. Dangerous. I don’t know why anyone would ever wear that.”
A1 - “That’s…oh, that smells good. It gives me that feeling like just after sex, that [relaxed sigh]. Makes me feel accomplished, confident in a not-pushy way”
MX297 - “That’s weird. At first it smells calming and relaxing, but underneath there’s something that makes me really grit my teeth, like ‘you motherfucker’. That could be bad if you weren’t careful.”
TAH - “Oh I like this. This smells really really really good. [note, Lady K is bisexual] It makes me, um, well it makes me kinda tingle and stuff, y’know, down there. Do you have an extra bottle of that?”
