This one has been one of the most spectacular experiences thus far.
My fraternity had a wine-evening with a sorority at our locale. Applied the following before arriving:
Did not notice anything particulat at first, albeit everone was fery friendly - though they tend to be friendly people anyway. I got quite a lot IOIs from the girls and approached a few of them. Got them talking, and interested, though the connection did not seem sexual or intimate enough.
Sneaked away two hours or so later and applied the following:
Got back, and surely enough a girl whom I had first seen ca one week ago - one of the girls from my previous post - approaced me (19 year old. I’ll call him girl A). In fact there were already some 5 girls who had formed a sort of circle around me. We were chatting on random topics, when the girl came and offered me cookies. After we had both eaten them she waved me, giggled and told me in a very low voice that she would be back. She was back in about 30 seconds with more cookies. She gave some of them to me, and offered the rest to the group - no doubt as not to seem unpolite. She did that about 10 times, giggling each time she went and came back.
The organisers had a game, which involved all of the people being in a shipwreck in a leaking lifeboat. Everyone had a short amount of time to convince others why he/she should stay in the lifeboat, and then people would vote either to keep the person, or throw him/her overboard. I have never been much of a public speaker, but when it was my turn, I felt the energy and confidence. I got a impressive reaction from the people, albeit the decided to throw me overboard. They were not enthusiastic enough with me being the ships captain - and for some weird reason thought the shipwreck was my fault.
The voting was still quite close, with about 40% voting in my favour. ![]()
After that all the new members were tasked into making a theatre act. We were given a topic and some 30 minutes to prepare. Again, I had the confidence and took the lead role and the lead in general. The act was a success, and universally liked.
Sat down after the teatre performance and saw girl A walking around. I looked her into the eye and made it clear that she should sit next to me, which she did. We had a decent chat, talking about each other. She lauged at my jokes and added to them. Once again, she went for some cookies. This time she had also a small stick with a few pieces of cheese with her. I asked for the cheese, and we shared the stick.
A new girl sat close to me some 30 minutes later. She too had been in the play and we had had eye contact and blushing for her part. I got her talking and she was instantly hooked. I got busted in figuring out her age, and she told in a flirty manner, that I need not worry, as she is not anything close to 30. She did not tell her age, but it is something in early 20’es. We had a long chat. A few other girls and even a few of the men were listening to some degree at various times. She told me where she was working and when she was working, telling me I should come to see the event. (An exhibition about the Titanic) It was some time later when she realised it was late and she had to go home. I asked if I could find her on Facebook, and she told me it would be no problem for me to find her.
I stayed on for a bit longer. What follows is quite strange. Two of the senior members of my fraternity approached me, basically telling how well I have been doing, that I am one of the best and well liked newcomers of all time, saying that everyone in the fraternity is on that opinion. They were basically sucking up to me. One of them was patting me gently (and no, he is not gay) The other one - basically the one in charge of all the new members - spoke too very highly of me, telling me how well I had done, and so on. They are both great guys, but I did resent that instance, as it made me look beta - or so I thought at the moment. The likeability of Ammo was there. And while it made me myself confident and made the girls respect me, it made the guys act a bit more as “best friends”. There was certainly a vibe of respect there, but they still looked to me as a little brother in a way. Now that felt a bit disrespectful, considering that I had been in the Alpha role a fair part of the evening. In reality I do have a lower status in the fraternity, as I am not a fully pledged member yet, so they have all the right to see me that way. There was just this conflict between my attitude at the time and their behaviour. ![]()
