No from that interaction I read there I dont think the guy is friend zoning you.
Could he be concerned, or overly cautious, about sexual harassment, as a supervisor he may have had a talk or “be aware of” rules that supervisors must not have sexual relations with employees
I mean, he’s not married right? If he’s single then I can only think of him being skittish about his role as the supervisor
lol yes that sounds like a cocky & funny thing some PUAs get taught lol (saying “Yes im still single” in reply to that Question)
-He is not married. He is single and no kids either. Never been married.
The LIL HOMIE thing means like having a -home girl (female friend) that is considered one of the “boys” you know? But I don’t think Im that either. IDK this guy is weird and he confuses me very much.
I guess leaving that guy alone for a while does seem like the most sensible thing to do
All I can think of that as a supervisor he’s abit iffy about going out with an employee, have you two handled that in any way?
I bet the guy likes you though
What kind of work do you do? That might help us understand how what the atmosphere might be like about supervisor & employee relations. Theres afew nightclubs I know where many of the employees are dating their boss. And some other environments where it would be a big no no
I’d have to agree with this too, the guy definately likes you at the minimum in some way, otherwise we wouldnt have droven all the way to your place on xmas eve so he definately likes you
Well,
what I have told him is that I don’t want anyone knowing that me and him talk, or text or hang out outside of work. He told one guy that he would hang out with me on NY but ended up not making it. SO this guy told me that the TARGET toldhim that. I personally don’t want no one to know because peopel start talking shit and send bad vibes over lol and to protect him from any trouble. Im not sure what the policy here is.
We work in a technical call center. Im in the first level of support and he is a supervisor in the second level of support which is known as Tier 2.
If he’s a technical guy that could explain him not making the right moves to pick you up
Particularly for example if he is someone who has been doing IT Technical Support for long enough to get to Level 2 supervisor
If we some other route, e.g. social guy who studied business management and ended up at level 2 management/supervision then that would not explain it
In my experience technical companies dealing with technical things (e.g. IT Companies) havent usually worked out that whole social dynamic
that makes it ok for a boss to date an employee and have everything work out well, but the of course highly social
and indeed socially-centered environments of a nightclub, I know quite afew nightclubs where management are dating employees
I reckon the women there have the guys figured out anyway heh
In those nightclubs nobody batted an eyebrow if an employee and boss where dating
I reckon he’s into you because of the xmas eve thing, and at least the talking of making plans for NYE,
I can only speak for myself not this guy but what you describe about his behaviour:
I know I have come off as weird, or at least unusual, sending mixed signals etc a number of times when I have experienced Excessive Attraction to a lady
but was running game or trying to play hard to get, but with the excessive attraction playing hard to get didnt quite work out too well and would
be incongruent with the other signals that came through (to her) due to my excessive attraction
When did you tell him this ? Not good. First off people talk shit whether your doing something or not. What people say really makes no difference. Secondly telling him you want your friendship/relationship a secret indicates your uncomfortable with it. Thats going to make him more uncomfortable with it as well. Its going to make him hesitate, not text you, limit work contact.
Your giving him mixed signals and I think both of you are confused now.
I do think you should distance yourself and my guess is he will come and find out why. Then flat out tell him that your tired of waiting for him to make a move. Either you move forward or the friendship will stagnate.
I reckon give him some space, give yourself some space/distance so its not annoying you how weird he is lol, give u some time to focus on other things too
then give him some food, he’ll either come and eat it…or he wont
abit like going fishing, throw some bait, though im not thinking of any hook or reel, just some bait or food and yeah he might come and eat it
The alternative is “Then flat out tell him that your tired of waiting for him to make a move. Either you move forward or the friendship will stagnate.”
always hard to say which one’llwork without sitting their and watching both of you all day lol but my general feeling is to throw some food out there (edit: and of course lean back/make space)
I think he’s attracted, but is being strangled by company policy. I agree with what you say, give him some space, wait it out, and see if he comes hunting.
I’m on the opposite end of this kind of deal, but in my case my hesitation is caused by not wanting the lady to feel intimidated about dating her supervisor. There are no other barriers. I just don’t want to make her feel uncomfortable working with me. Does the fact that she keeps engineering dates for coffee / lunch indicate that she would be comfortable with me escalating things?
Sorry to hijack the thread.
Just to add to my previous reply - when a guy has something going with a woman, he generally wants everyone to know about it. He wants people to look at him and say, “wow, he’s with X now, what a cool couple”. For a guy, keeping things secret just doesn’t feel right. Most guys want it in black and white. No grey areas. BUT, I understand that keeping a relationship a secret can be important for a woman; it can even make the whole thing more spicy!
