As a man, this is something I have found very counterintuitive. A woman who tries to enslave her man is normal - she’s just checking that he’s still the Real Man she married. A woman who succeeds picked the wrong man in the first place, and will ditch him. She wants you to stand up to her to prove you will stand up FOR her.

Okay, well, you’re entitled to your opinion… it just doesn’t apply in my world. My guy has always stood up for me…, never against me, and that’s all the proof I need. Course, I don’t fight him much either… I just don’t feel the need to.
