I just received this as a forward from my mom. I thought this was extremely interesting.
(Safer and Healthier than Bleach)
This was written by Becky Ransey of Indiana (a doctor’s wife), and I want to share it with you. She was over recently for coffee and smelled the
bleach I was using to clean my toilet and counter tops. This is what she told me…
I would like to tell you of the benefits of that plain little ole bottle of 3% peroxide you can get for under $1.00 at any drug store. What does
bleach cost?
My husband has been in the medical field for over 36 years, and most doctors don’t tell you about peroxide. Have you ever smelled bleach in a
doctor’s office? NO!!! Why? Because it smells, and it is not healthy! Ask the nurses who work in the doctor’s offices, and ask them if they use
bleach at home. They are wiser and know better!
Did you also know bleach was invented in the late 40’s? It’s chlorine,Folks! And it was used to kill our troops. Peroxide was invented during
WWI in the 20’s. It was used to save and help cleanse the needs of our troops and hospitals. Please think about this.
Take one capful (the little white cap that comes with the bottle) and hold in your mouth for 10 minutes daily, then spit it out. (I do it when
I bathe.) No more canker sores, and your teeth will be whiter without expensive pastes. Use it instead of mouthwash.
Let your toothbrushes soak in a cup of peroxide to keep them free of germs.
Clean your counters and table tops with peroxide to kill germs and leave a fresh smell. Simply put a little on your dishrag when you wipe,
or spray it on the counters.
After rinsing off your wooden cutting board, pour peroxide on it to kill salmonella and other bacteria.
I had fungus on my feet for years until I sprayed a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water on them (especially the toes) every night and let dry.
Soak any infections or cuts in 3% peroxide for five to ten minutes several times a day. My husband has seen gangrene that would not heal
with any medicine but was healed by soaking in peroxide.
Fill a spray bottle with a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water and keep it in every bathroom to disinfect without harming your septic system like bleach or most other disinfectants will.
Tilt your head back and spray into nostrils with your 50/50 mixture whenever you have a cold, plugged sinus. It will bubble and help to kill
the bacteria. Hold for a few minutes, and then blow your nose into a tissue.
9 If you have a terrible toothache and cannot get to a dentist right away, put a capful of 3% peroxide into your mouth and hold it for ten minutes several times a day. The pain will lessen greatly.
And of course, if you like a natural look to your hair, spray the 50/50 solution on your wet hair after a shower and comb it through. You
will not have the peroxide-burnt blonde hair like the hair dye packages but more natural highlights if your hair is a light brown, faddish, or
dirty blonde. It also lightens gradually, so it’s not a drastic change.
Put half a bottle of peroxide in your bath to help rid boils, fungus, or other skin infections.
You can also add a cup of peroxide instead of bleach to a load of whites in your laundry to whiten them. If there is blood on clothing,
pour it directly on the soiled spot. Let it sit for a minute, then rub it and rinse with cold water. Repeat if necessary.
I use peroxide to clean my mirrors. There is no smearing, which is why I love it so much for this.
I could go on and on. It is a little brown bottle no home should be without! With prices of most necessities rising, I’m glad there’s a way
to save tons of money in such a simple, healthy manner! This information really woke me up. I hope you gain something from it, too.
I remember a while ago I was actually reading about how some doctors have used intravenous injections of peroxide solutions to kill cancer cells. I believe it because cancer cells are anarobic, meaning they hate oxygen. And H2O2 is created by your immune cells to kill other harmful germs so it makes sense. Not that anyone should try it at home though.
But yeah, it’s awesome because the stuff is so cheap too! All that you posted for less than a dollar!
I use it instead of glass cleaner…especially since glass cleaner has so many harmful chemicals if you ever inhale it. It works just as good, if not better.
Yeah, I found this information interesting. I absolutely hate using chlorine bleach for my white clothes, because it would always damage the living heck out of them. I have been trying to find an alternative to get my white clothes clean. I might have to give peroxide a try.
I just noticed the remark of it working on cancer, and since my dad has just started kemo therapi it kinda caught my eye, i started searching the net for somthing to back it up, and noticed somthing that may interest you people, a little warning on one of the pages:
I want to emphasize very strongly that you should not use any type of hydrogen peroxide unless it is “Food Grade”. The junk you buy at grocery stores and most health food stores has toxic chemicals added to it and is for EXTERNAL USE ONLY. Cancer treatments should not involve this stuff under ANY circumstances.
Is the web site legit? There are some things that make me suspicious. . .
Why would they say that 35% H2O2 is the only one recommended for taking internally? I did notice they say diluted 35%. Well, diluted 35% H2O2 will be less than 35% H2O2, and 3% H2O2 is technically considered diluted 35% H2O2. Why would they say 35% is okay while 3% is not? I know they are made of the same molecules. H2O2, over time, decomposes to H2O (aka, water). This just does not make any sense to me.
And I did get a little suspicious when I saw H2O2 as being a cancer treatment. Last summer, I did research on H2O2 in switchgrass. I know H2O2 is toxic in plants, so they use ascorbic acid (aka, vitamin c) to rid themselves of it. H2O2 is a free radical. It will react with other molecules making up various tissue cells in the human body and wreak all kinds of havoc if in high amounts. I’m pretty sure the human body also uses vitamin c to rid itself of other free radicals other than H2O2. I do have to agree with this article on this fact.
Wow. I just realized how big of a nerd I am. I hope everyone understands what I just said.
Whoops. I just rechecked my facts right after I hit the submit button. I just read that 3% H2O2 has stabilizers that are not fit for consumption.
Let’s see my handy dandy bottle of 3% that I happen to have on hand. . .
Hmmm. . . the only ingredients I’m seeing is stabilized H2O2 (probably means that it won’t decompose to H2O as fast) and purified water. Though it doesn’t say stabilized with what. I currently work in the Chemistry stockroom and I constantly run across chemicals that are stabilized with a certain metal, and there would be a rod of that metal inside the bottle. So I’m wondering if the stabilizers in this bottle of H2O2 are the stabilizers they listed on the website.
Sorry, I am usually suspicious of internet sites, especially when I don’t see a publisher or a copyright (?) date.
always be critical of your sources, especially when its on the net (or from the gov )
but yea, i just noticed the warning in big red letters and thought hey, people should probably know that, even if it isnt true, better safe then sorry.
At least it causes some people to check out the “facts.” Gets one to at least think. Wonder if snopes.com or the like would have anything…
Webmd is considered a legit site, maybe could look there too. There are legit cancer treatment sites too (I think cancer.gov and cancer.org) that may have something on “treatment.” I suspect it’s some sort of stretch ie “a free radical would destroy cells therefore use it to destroy cancer cells” sort of thinking.
(I think I’d go for Temodar over H2O2 at the moment except for the slight cost difference… 8000 dollars vs 89 cents…)
both cancer and normal cells gain energy by breaking up sugar, normal cells use oxygen to do so, cancer cells dont, (though cancer cells only get 1/15th of the amount of energi from the sugar so you suddently increase your usage of sugar in order to let them grow faster)
in fact oxygen can slow down cancer cells production, halt it completly, and according to the websites, even remove the cells.
the thing about slowing it down etc is true, but removing the cancer cells completly has not been proven. well, the websites say that peroxide can provide the cells with extra amounts of oxygen, which ofcourse the cancer cells wont like, and that would possibly kill them
Isn’t it ironic that doctors always say aspartame (artificial sweetener in diet soda) can cause cancer? And now this website is saying that people who eat sugar in excess are also at risk of cancer (anyway, I think that’s what it’s implying. . . )
However, dextrose (splenda) apparently does not produce the same effects as aspartame. It’s made from sugar, and no studies have found any harmful side effects of this sweetener. I learned this from a nursing major here at my university, and one of my teachers has a diabetic husband. She said her doctors had to take him off aspartame because of all the bad side effects. They then started using splenda and he did not have any side effects because of it.
Anyone know any side effects to Equal?? is it the same as splenda? I personally like the taste from Equal over Splenda.
Anyhow, back to the peroxide subject…after I read ur thread tomboy05 (when u originally posted it) I began to use peroxide for my teeth, I actually try to leave it in my mouth for a bit(not the whole 10 min that’s too much), I also get cotton swabs with peroxide on’em and rub my teeth for a couple of minutes with them, I do this a couple of times a day, or after brushing my teeth I’ll pour a bit of peroxide on my toothbrush and then brush my teeth a bit. I’ve actually noticed a difference as the days have gone by…So Thanks…my teeth appreciate it and my pocket too !
I hold a capfull in my mouth for 10 minutes everyday. I have remember to hold it, not swish, otherwise it bubbles up and my mouth gets full . I have notices results too. I used to use Crest whitestrips (or at least a generic brand) and Rembrandt brand whitening strips. They were very expensive, and I get just as good results from the hydrogen peroxide. It’s some pretty good stuff.
