I’ve been reading this myself recently. Even though there’s a good dose of bias and opinion, not all of which you’ll agree with, the work overall is incredible.
Rapaille basically hypnotizes groups of people over several hours and discovers something close to “cultural genetics”. He’s earned huge amounts of money for some of America’s top firms doing this, but it’s applicability extends far beyond business. It’s just good stuff for your brain. Really makes you think and helps you understand the world around you better.
This isn’t the typical kind of stuff you read these days (it’s not the “same thing” rehashed from somewhere else), so it also makes for fascinating “small talk” that’ll make you sound like a genius.
I’ll go get it at the bookstore tomorrow! Michael, if you know of any good recommendations that dabble around human psychology or cultural psychology, please point me in that direction.
I stopped by Borders Bookstore Saturday and started reading a copy of the Culture Code. I could not stop reading this book!!!
Right from the introduction the book captures your attention with the story of the Jeep automobile. It never even occured to me that consumers identified this auto with a horse and that simply by changing from a square headlight to a round one would increase sales (because horses have round eyes) This is a book with great insites.
You will find out how notions are formed in our teen years, an especially good section is the part on sex…by reading this book you may even discover things about yourself.
So most things in life have codes,which are systematic sets of laws or rules that we live by…Work, Love, Money, Clothes etc and all you need to do is understand the code to be more successful…Read This BOOK
