Yes, a thread dedicated to all things healthy!
Since really part of the whole pheromone deal is self-improvement, I see this thread as fitting. So, share your successes/failures, workouts, diets, whatever works!
I’ll share a bit later, feeling lazy currently ![]()
We are waiting for you to start
As Far as fitness goes. I workout 3-4 days a week. What ever allows. Depending on my schedule. As far as genetics go I am decently blessed I guess. I mean I never had to work to be skinny just always was. And going in my sophmore year of high School I woke up 1 day and just had a 6 pack. Then I started working out 3-4 times a week and I ended up where I am today. I guess having a father that was 6 foot 6 260lbs 8 percent body fat helps as far as genetics goes right? Not much can be said for my moms side though. As much as I love them they are a bunch of lazy slobs. Makes me embarassed for them. But couple things that will help make you more healthy within a couple weeks. Sleep!!! Drink enough water. Seriously probably the biggest thing you can do for yourself. Just get active. You dont have to go to the gym to get into good shape. I do push ups at home. Pull ups. All body weight situation exercise. Growing up with my grandpa in the Marines and retiring. He said to work out for how you life. I do not need to push bar loaded with weight away from my chest to get strong. Try some chest dips with a 25lb weight vest on and a 45lb plate tied to your legs. See how many times you can do that. Shit will get you in shape fast. Also working and growing up on a farm helped me I guess. Tossing Bails everyday. I don’t know all I know is that I am happy to have my 6 pack and to not be fat. I hate how ugly and obese our country is becoming. We used to stand for something. But now we stand for diabetes and being a bunch of fat good for nothing pieces of shit. I for one want nothing to to with that
Oh fine! ![]()
What I’m doing is really half-assing it. I lost 20 pounds from June to December doing nothing at all.
I lost 10 more since New Years, just cutting out a bit of junk food and weight lifting 30 minutes a day.
This week I’m going to add in 30 minutes of cardio as a routine, and hopefully when I get my new job [which should be next week] I can afford to actually eat healthy
Done the Alpha Male Challenge and Testosterone Advantage Plan, A few other workouts as well. I prefer ready made workout programs because I can start and end one, see the results and move on to something different without getting stale or hitting a plateau.
I usually go to the Body For Life plan in as kind of a baseline program in between other programs. I like B4L because it’s very simple and basic as is the diet plan which makes it pretty damn easy to stick to.
Currently I’m doing some crossfit type of stuff and might try the P90X program to build up some stamina since I’m in training for the Tough Mudder run in six months.
P90x is pretty Decent. Insanity is good too. Basically anything with high intensity interval training is good.
Well today starts a new 12 week cycle for me. I’m going to look into the EIS site RAD, since I use their drinks often. I keep working out but its not doing what I need it to be doing. Strike that- I’m not doing what I need to be doing. I’m at my wits end and can’t figure out why I self-sabotage every time I start this. I’m really disgusted because I’ve been going to the gym for 2 years and I mean solid. 4 years on and off and I haven’t lost a f*cking pound! I don’t drink but maybe a couple of beers a week when I go out.
I’m at a loss and really just feel like giving it all up. Disgusted in TN
Hey guys, just wanted to say
I weighed in at 199.4 lbs today
This is the first time in about 3 years that I’ve weighed less than 200 lbs
I want to start P90X, but I’m lacking a bit in equipment
Get your metabolic type checked. The site is http://metabolictypingonline.com. And like jabez said make sure you drink enough water. I read somewhere it is half an ounce for every pound. So for example, I weigh 175…so I should be drinking 87.5 ounces of water a day.
Another possibility is that maybe you’re overtraining. You don’t have to kill yourself at the gym to get results. Four or five days a week for about an hour - hour and a half should be sufficient.
As far as self sabotage goes I think I seen some motivation type shit at that indigo subliminal site that you gave me. http://subliminal-shop.com/physical-health/. Are you looking to get huge, ripped, or just into shape?
I drink a gallon of water or more a day. Train, but not crazy. Its me, I know that.
Talk to your local dealer, have him score you some Sheen.
In all seriousness though, have you talked to a doctor or nutritionist? If you’re putting that much work and effort into it, there’s no way you should be having problems.
This was awesome, I’ve personally done it. Love it.

Steve, what kind of exercise are you doing? You could be replacing fat with muscle, which is heavier, and not losing weight but getting more toned. Sometimes you can’t judge progress with a scale.
Also, do you pay close attention to you calorie intake? I’ve never had a problem losing weight but when I’m trying to gain weight it’s not enough for me to just eat a lot. I have to pay close attention to calories and make sure I’m maximizing (or in your case minimizing) the number of calories without eating too unhealthy (or in your case starving yourself). I’d suggest finding out how many calories you can take in per day (you can find calorie counters on google) and know/plan the calories of everything you eat (you can find the calories of things that aren’t marked on google as well). Try that with your exercise regimen for a month or so and see if it doesn’t help.
Also, you might want to replace that BuckyStars trip with a glass of green tea at least some of the time. I personally prefer coffee too lol but green tea has the caffeine and a lot of antioxidants, amino acids, etc. that help burn fat and also have numerous other health benefits.
Damn, I want to start weight lifting too.
Thought, my discipline is non-existing.
I will just end up not even going to the gym. :S
Lets see I go to Zumba class twice a week which runs about a hour. I work out at home 3 times a week for a hour. I switch around what I do a lot according to weather and time constrants. Sometimes I hike or swim. Sometimes I just do a a dvd workout which consists of intervals of cardio and weights.
I do yoga on Sundays to stay limber.
I meditate every day which is to me like fitness for the brain LOL
I drink lots of water and try to limit sugar and carbs. Oh and I try to stay away from Gluten as much as I can. I love my green drinks I make with my juicer to.

You have two kids, a house to keep up with, a full time job and you get to do all of this. You just motivated me to step it up more in my workouts.
My kids are pretty much grown up and self sufficient now. When they were little I didnt have this kind of time but I was so busy running around after them it was like working out and the best meditation time was when I had to go to the bathroom until they would start banging on the door saying "Mom what are you doing in there " LOL.![]()
Now my nest is almost empty and only needs a good cleaning a few times a week.
I do get up early to work out though except for Zumba class which is at night and more fun then working out. If I dont do it in the morning I will make excuses not to when I get home from work.

Can anybody suggest a good workout regiment for getting prepared for Rugby season? It starts late August, and will be my first year.
Lets see I drink close to, if not more, than a gallon of water every day
Pre-workout M-F I have a Whey protein smoothie consisting of
1/2 cup organic plain yogurt
B-12
Choline-Inositol
2 Tbls Organic coconut oil
1 tbls Flax oil
1 scoop Gold Standard Whey
1 scoop AmazingGrass
2 Ice cubes
1/2 cup OJ
Post workout I usually have a Atkins advantage bar
Around Lunch time I have a fresh veggie juice
garlic
ginger
zucchini squash
apple
carrot
broccoli
celery
radish
Bell pepper
I cut all this up on Sunday and put in 7 zip lock bags so I have them handy for the week. It shaves about 1/2 hour off every day. All I have to do daily is pull the bag out and juice. I seriously just have to juice and clean up which takes 7 minutes. Juicing is where its at and for someone who is not a big veggie fan this takes the cake.
Mid day snack depends but usually something lite to keep me satiated till dinner. Maybe a can of albacore tuna in water with a bit of mayo with celery and onions chopped into it with a slice of American cheese.
Dinner is usually a Green Giant Veggie steamer bag with some type of meat cooked in. Sometimes a can of tuna, shrimp or maybe grilled chicken, salmon, or ground turkey. Just depends what I’m in the mood for.
All in all my calories are just about 2000 a day. I am a member of Livestrong.com and record my calories and exercise every day.
M-F I go to the gym in the morning and here’s a general look at my routine:
M: Chest and Legs treadmill 45 minutes
T: Elliptical 10 minutes, Bike 10 minutes, treadmill 30 minutes
W: Back and Shoulders treadmill 45 minutes
Th: Elliptical 10 minutes, Bike 10 minutes, treadmill 30 minutes
F: Arms treadmill 45 minutes
Sat: depends
Sun: Rest
I also do a couple hundred crunches every day
I have 2 cups of black coffee in the morning (no cream no sugar, just coffee) and usually a grande coffee at night same way.
I normally go out to bars about 4 nights a week BUT if I do I limit myself to one or two beers a night and its usually a bud lite or Mich Ultra.
I’m doing the right thing, but I’m my own worse enemy. I stray and do stupid things and defeat myself just as I really get started.
Oh yeah I have sex quite often too. It’s sweaty!![]()
Good lord, that in itself is 10x more than I do daily
