I think the smell of fear (all-out terror) also includes TAF and several other pheros that may not be sold by Androtics. That defocusing and energy you get from TAF is what you feel when something is about to leap at you, but you dont know where it will come from. Your body is primed for rapid movement, your senses are exaggerated and youre focused on everything at one time. You can hear everything at once, see a speckle move in a shadow.
Similarly, when you come down from the event, you can feel very tired, as if you were tensed for a very long time.
