I’m not sure but before I tried to search for a thread and I couldn’t find it:
“I’m not your girlfriend, dude.” So I then found out that the entire thread had: MX135: “I’m not your girlfriend, dude.” and by searching that way I found it.
As a web developer myself this leads me to believe that your PHPboard is using an exact phrase search function rather than a boolean phrase search. This can be easily changed in the administration area or contacting the sites developer.
This might explain the recent surge in posts by noob rather than using the search function to seek out there answers.
But then again it could just be that I’m stupid and don’t know what I’m talking about.
OK I just spoke with Jasmin and she has confirmed what my mother has been telling me all along, I am stupid. I am shamed to even admit this, but when using the search function, especially the Noobs, and even more SO potential wanna-be web developers should actually click the radio button that says search posts, rather than search threads.
Sheesh
OK that’s one for the God of Intelligence mocking me and my abysmal black hole of a brain, but I am glad to amuse all of those who now laugh at my ignorance. It must be SO uplifting to know that there is someone out there as stupid as I am, thus validating your intelligent design.
HAHAHA… if i was a god i would conglomerate all the bootay around ME! (and some of my friends…maybe…if they were good). Okay there goes the Sagg. in me. Talk now speak later.
steveo, so it would say in the control panel, if the repper were identifiable, who it was? Or would i have to search? b/c i tried looking through some of the options, but no go> oh well…remain anonymous…my first rep will be like my first true love…like a cool summer breeze; here one second, gone the next sniffle sniffle
HH
Rep post comments are only identifiable if the poster added their name to the comment. Otherwise they are anonymous. After I realized there was no link to poster I started adding my ID to my comments.
AND: Search can get frustrating. I have done some searches and gotten a list of “matches” but when I check they have nothing to do with what I was searching for. The search term should show up highlighted. We need an index and a FAQ or two…
pherolibrary.com is good, but is linked to somebody else’s site… (“you know who”). We could use “our own.”
