when i first heard about this through friends up north, they reffered me to abraham like 11/12 years ago.
from there i started doing my own research on LOA (read my little head off ) until they did the secret documentary a few years ago (not quite 2?) anyhoo, what it all boils down to… DOESNT matter what the source of information is…
is EXACTLY what you said.
like attracts like, what you SAY doesnt matter as much as your intention behind the words.
Ive said it before and ill say it again, may people have know the Secret for a long time now, (like thoughts attract like things) but all these people haven’t been able to succeed with it and get what they want because they have that little voice in the back of their head telling them the contrary.
This is where Bob steps in and introduces you with EFT, EFT releases that little voice and any other emotion blocking you from receiving in just minutes. I suggest that the whole world take a look at this because its one of the greatest technique ever!
To keep it in perspective for it does and does not do, try listening to this free teleseminar as well. Taken to the extreme, the 2 yr old daughter of a man who raped her to death “attracted” this? Never.
when you realize you dont get what you deserve*, you get where your head is at,* you can totally see how a child living in fear could attract something so hideous.
loa always works, but does not require belief in it to do so.
its called creating by default.
when we get overwhelmed with fearful/sad feelings, its easy to attract unwelcome and in this case extreme things.
obviously if it was her FATHER, she was feeling fear for a while before she manifested this.
on a much lighter note, i wont choose to read stuff like that because nothing good can come from it. im sure good things come from people able to do something about it though
I just finished watching the Secret film which i found online after reading this post.. im very glad for the post.. and something i will look into further due to past events in my life i can link to. i even felt tearful due events of my past(in a good way).. something i only told 2 ppl so something im not willing to share at the moment… but such an event links strongly to the law of attraction (which i only found out about today..)… and could have not been a coincidene* as it was so percific..
Thats awesome and this is what I was exactly trying to do, introduce as many people as I could to the Law Of Attraction. Enjoy and if you have any questions fell free to PM me!
To be honest, “The Law of Attraction” sounds like a load of bullshit to me. These writers seem to capitalize on the American Dream big-time.
Also, talking about “the Ego getting in the way of accepting the theory/law/whatever” is a cop-out.
This reminds me of Christians that think that god shows his love to believers by giving them success. Or is this the same deal?
Wow. No offense, but I’d venture to say that it was her father and ONLY her father that “manifested” that which happened. There is no magic energy that can make or break the American dream.
When the world hits a post-Peak Oil economic downslope (within 15 years, I reckon) we’ll see how well these believers attract “everything they want”.
Ya Kheddar, that’s been the main argument I’ve been hearing. It’s a very means and methods approach and if you read the book, which I’ve also done, the author pulls a lot of random shit together, I feel. However, the concept of the Law of Attraction actually works. You must keep in mind, the developers of the secret are trying to find an appeal to ALL people. All classes, races, educational backgrounds, geographies, etc.
It’s a little hard for some to sit through some of the bullshit but the force is there
P.S.
Carmine, how exactly do I get rid of this voice?
Well to be honest as soon as I started to read kheddar’s post I immediately stop reading it. Those are the things you must ignore and not read them because that messes with your faith.
This Ego this voice that is always telling you the contrary, you can get rid of it and it is rather simple. “EFT” this is a technique that balances your energy systems by tapping on certain points wile saying a “reminder”.
You can go to EFT Provides Impressive Health and Emotional Freedom–New Discovery Often Works Where Nothing Else and find out the whole technique for free, just download the Manual and all you will need is Adobe reader.
It guides you step by step, Bobs program also includes a wide variety of other resources that you could listen to and watch and this will also help you get through.
So you believe that poverty, hunger and war could be removed from the world if all the victims of poverty, hunger and war would start believing in something and attracting wealth, food and peace?
By the way, if you have to stop reading a contrary opinion, it just goes to show that your “faith” sits on a very weak foundation.
Albeit I am skeptical about the Law of Attraction myself, but you come off as being somebody who doesn’t have a clue as to what it is about, and the same goes for your comment about Christianity. I find it funny that the same people who scream ignorance and bias are likewise about their own view points.
My comment was not about all Christians, but a specific group of Christians who believe that success comes to those who God loves the most. Hence “Christians that believe that…” instead of “Christians, who believe that…”
I’ll admit though, that I haven’t read most of the direct information about the Law (aside from the sample material I got as an email), most of it is “third party criticism” (someone posted some earlier in this thread).
Just one more post while waiting for my reply to escape the depths of moderation:
Wikipedia says:
“The Law of Attraction is commonly associated with New Age and New Thought theories. It states people experience the corresponding manifestations of their predominant thoughts, feelings, words, and actions and that people therefore have direct control over reality and their lives through thought alone. A person’s thoughts (conscious and unconscious), emotions, beliefs and actions are said to attract corresponding positive and negative experiences “through the resonance of their energetic vibration.” [1] (Law of attraction - Wikipedia) The “law of attraction” states “you get what you think about; your thoughts determine your destiny.”[2] (Law of attraction - Wikipedia) Many proponents of the idea claim that with practice a person can use the law of attraction to change their lives. However, the idea has received intense criticism from multiple circles in the media, the scientific community, and even other areas of the New Age movement.”
If that paragraph constitutes even a ‘clue’ of what the Law is about, then I’ll just restate my opinion: it’s unscientific and overly romantic hocus pocus.
im not sure anyone genuinely interested in LOA has incentive for you to believe in it or not, other than it is so easy to get overly enthusiastic about a topic when it feels like an epiphany
an epiphany is exactly how i felt.
this isnt new news, kheddar. its only new to you. this stuff has been around forvever
i personally have never heard of ego getting in the way of anything, not sure what that is about but i only feel qualified to talk about stuff i have actually researched and experienced .
theorizing and venturing is cool, but it gets boring.
My posts got stuck in moderation, so I’ll see if this one goes through and sum up what was in them:
First off, my comment about Christians was about SOME christians (who believe that success is given by God to those who he loves the most), NOT ALL christians (hence “christians that believe that…” instead of “christians, who believe that…”)
Secondly, if the following extract from Wikipedia constitutes even a ‘clue’ as to what the law is about (in addition to the free sample material I’ve read), then I stand by my original opinion:
“The Law of Attraction is commonly associated with New Age and New Thought theories. It posits that one tends to attract into one’s life that which one thinks about, be this positive, desired events or things; or negative ones. Therefore, one must control one’s thought to maintain them on what is desired and avoid that which is not desired. The “law of attraction” states “you get what you think about; your thoughts determine your destiny.”[1] (Law of attraction - Wikipedia) It is also said that emotions are the factor that increase or decrease the speed of attraction relative to how much you feel about the subject you are attempting to attract.”
The reason why I am critical of this “Law” is that I am not willing to pay for something I suspect will prove to be unscientific and overly romantic hocus pocus. I am also quite surprised at the fact that this “Law” teaches people to close their eyes from the “nasty” and the dissenting voices, instead of listening to them and then still maintaining their faith in whatever they believe in - which, in my opinion, creates a much stronger foundation for that faith/belief. The same goes for religion: I have utmost respect for those that are willing to question and test their faith/beliefs and are willing to listen to people who disagree (of course they don’t have to abandon their faith, just be open to dissent), but none for those that just close their ears and won’t listen.
If there is any LOA-er here who doesn’t ignore everything he/she doesn’t like, could he/she give an explanation for the war/poverty/hunger issue, which IMO is still a valid question until someone explains why it is not relevant.
I give a lot of kudos to Carmine for being so young, so positive and so inquisitive.
It’s so so very easy to sh!t all over someone’s positivity. It’s been done too many times in this thread. To prove what? That the world is a crappy place? Suit yourself. I know what reality is like out there, and I still try to focus on beauty. I strive to create a better universe, albeit in my immediate view. If enough people did that, the world would be a better place. If I don’t flip off the guy who cuts me off, maybe he won’t get even angrier…
