The Secret Law Of ATTRACTION

:open_mouth:OMG you just gave a a great idea!!

I knew about the meetup.com because I was a member for quite a wile but it did not cross my mind to meet other people like my self in my area that know about the Law.

Thank you LOR!!

Yeah that sucks lol. I bought the secret, watched it a few times, lent it and havn’t seen it since, being passed from friend to friend. It’s the same with a lot of good books I got too :stuck_out_tongue:

The funny thing is, since reading this thread, I now keep running into things related to The Law of Attraction without even looking for it. It just keeps popping up. Such as when I went to the store to get cat-food and just happened to come across a copy of The Secret. This store doesn’t usually even have a very good selection of books. I always have to go to a book-store out of town or order from Amazon to find one I want. Just a few minutes ago I received an email mentioning the LOA. It just keeps surfacing! It’s one of those things that makes you put your fingers on your chin and say say “Hmmm…”

OK, I’m going to say something here cause after reading this thread and not posting I’m going out on a limb.

Personally I disagree with any faith that tries and benefits monetarily from their members.

From what I’ve read about the Law I am to understand that people attract what they seek and yes, to some extent it makes sense.

SO what about children that acquire debilitating diseases? You cannot obviously believe that they sought disease! I have also read the argument that it happens because of something they did in a previous life. That is absolute nonsense! By believing that you can garner disease from something you did in another life tells me you have “NO” ability to attract anything if you are attracting things you didn’t even have knowledge of in this lifetime. Than you could forget about attracting anything because it could be said in your last life you wanted disease, because all you thought about was disease at that time and now in this life you are reaping what you sowed in another life time.

Please help me to understand.

EDIT: I’m am serious in trying to understand this better. I may be coming off as negative, but my intentions are to learn what you think and what I posted is hard to get around. I would love it if someone could explain it to me.

It’s been a while since I read any LOA stuff and I haven’t read The Secret but I don’t think it is meant to be a magic bullet. That is to say, bad things sometimes happen to good people and good things sometimes happpen to bad people. You can INFLUENCE this with LOA but everything that happens to you isn’t created by your thoughts. Maybe if you became some sort of master practitioner you could control everything (don’t know, just throwing it out there).

I want there to be 4 million gallons of oil under my garden.
I expect there to be 4 million gallons of oil under my garden.
I can see those 4 million gallons of oil!
There are 4 million gallons of oil under my gallon!

Shit it worked! IM RICH B#TCH!

Sorry Lor, but your new age philosophy is occult magick. Your desire for the truth is attracting me to type this. You’re soul is now condemned and governed by a force you only wish you could truly comprehend.

So spake IACOBUS BURGUNDUS MOLENSIS
the Grand Master of the Temple; and of the God
that is ass-headed did he dare not speak.

I think that depends on the extent that you take the LoA. I don’t think there is anything occult-like about affirmations, visualization, and radiating a positive vibe. I think the same could be said about NLP and Hypnosis (forbidden patterns, manipulation). It depends on your intention, and how you go about using it.

In Christianity, there are many wolves who utilize the Bible to seduce a crowd into believing that God will grant them millions if they sow seeds monetarily-wise in a due mechanical process with only the sole intention of reaping the harvest. I am a devout Christian, and I know that a lot of these evangelists use NLP tactics to prey on those vulnerable and/or new to the faith for their own selfish gains. There are intriguing aspects about the LoA that have a general basis around common sense - you are what you think and/or believe. Jesus himself said that if you had enough faith, that you could move mountains - that, of course, is also based on the fundamental principles of what Christ taught. So, with that in mind you have to analyze what is being said here within your own belief set. In Christianity, it is taught to pray fervently, believe that what you’ve asked for will be given, and to do unto others as those would do unto you. The basis of the LoA is already covered in those steps, although, it is Godless. Is it occultic? That depends on how it is used. It is definately not Black Magick.

EDIT: Reading over some information on Aleister Crowley, it appears that he did utilize the Law of Attraction, albeit appears that the Law has been used throughout ancient history, and is defended by some Freemasons as being perverted by ‘scam artists’ who promote it to be used as ‘low magick’ (misuse for personal gain). It is also commonly known that Aleister was a Freemason, so it doesn’t surprise me that he would use the LoA. I think like anything out there, the good of something can be perverted for the use of evil. I think if you’re going to use the LoA (which I don’t, btw), that you be careful on what your intention is focused on.

I don’t think this is new age philosophy. Jesus is quoted in the bible saying “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall receive them.” Pretty much the same thing as this LoA thingy.

Also Proverbs 23:7 says …as [a man] thinks in his heart, so is he..

Your quote is right but I don’t know if this LoA is just that myself.
Anyway I do believe that negative thinking is heard by our subconscious and can be pretty self-defeating, causing that internal mental chatter (eg doubts) to increase, and that is not good definitely…
I found this article in line with this on a Christian perspective, here’s the link
Joyce Meyer Ministries — The Power of a Positive Attitude

Very true. But, Jesus also said, 33 I have said this to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." John 16:33. There is no indication that if you radiate a positive vibe, and think a certain way that all of your problems will disappear. Maybe that’s a false impression of what I get from the LoA. The reason I even brought up Jesus was because the LoA tries to fit into context quotes that only pertain to its’ agenda. Regardless if you think Jesus was the Son of God, he had more trials and tribulations than any of us will ever encounter in our lives, yet he did more for humanity than any of us ever will. I guess you could argue from the aspect that Jesus already knew he was going to be crucified, thus attracted his own fate through the LoA, but that is shaky.

Anyway, I do think that the LoA does work, but to the extent of how it does is another matter.

There’s no guarantee that everything will be ok, that you won’t have problems, in fact. The only guarantee is that being negative generally makes things worse though, I would say. Or is more likely to.

Exactly. I don’t think this LoA thing is supposed to make you some sort of god who can change your entire reality with a single thought and make “ALL your problems disappear”. It is more of an influence thing, making SOME of your problems smaller.
I’m sure you’ve had a day where everything seems to run smoothly and go your way, even if there are some minor problems. I think the LoA is supposed to make most days like that, not to make your days a solid string of miraculous occurances.

That’s interesting as it would sound similar to the kind of positive thinking I posted about.. I haven’t read it myself so I can’t say more.
Tonight I was hoping to see some girl and have a hit… I hadn’t seen anyone, but I decided to think positively - thinking I will see someone eventually if not tonight. And I did have a hit…

Right, but if you read Wealth Beyond Reason, Bob mentions that the LoA may be used to actually change the world around you as in you will wake up one day with whatever you wanted already in your life like the Butterfly Effect. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t work that way, but anything is possible no matter where you pull the source. Of course, if you’ve seen the movie, he kept getting more problems the more he changed the situation. So, if the LoA does work, which I know it does as I’ve used it before, you better be careful of what you “wish” for.

I saw that movie! Nobody wants to end up like that movie!

I’m with Lor. Abraham-Hicks is where it’s at. It’s a shame that Esther was duped by Prime Time. She’s the real deal.

This stuff has been around for ages, though, repackaged under different aliases.

I can vouch for this LOA stuff, but the way I see it you have to back it up with with action. Faith without works is dead you know. An example is with me losing weight. I visualized me losing weight, but I also ate healthy and did a ton of Hindu pushups. When I started I weighed around 230 lbs, now I’m at 213. I’m just trying to get fighting fit for the Army. BTW, Army Basic Training is co-ed. I may put my pheromones to use there.

many many thanks,Holmes.

(its difficult to claim the world isnt flat when so many swear it is)

i met Esther and she is simply the most serene exciting-person i ever met.

Well I have to say that after further personal investigation on my behalf, my original post in this topic was wrong and I publicly apologize to those that I might have offended.

What a beautiful and wonderful opportunity we ALL have in attracting what ever we wish for. I see the LOA working around me everyday and in my life. Lately I have projected negative thoughts about certain things in my life and have attracted exactly those things.

I have further gone back in memory and have come to the absolute conclusion that the LOA plays an evidentry role in everything I or anyone else in my life has done. It’s really that simple.

Furthermore I asked some questions in my earlier post that I “thought” would debunk this whole idea, but through further reading and research my “thought” was debunked because I faithfully sought the truth and it was bestowed upon me in the most remarkable way.

Yes the LOA works and yes you can have whatever you want in this life. Why is that so hard to believe? Many, many persons have what they chose, why shouldn’t you or I?
