Tisha, your posts on this are fascinating. I’ve read the thread from the beginning. Most interesting was seeing Steve’s posts! I don’t know much/anything about this, but you have inspired me to start learning… I might be asking you some questions though, oh wise one. ![]()
mmm… sarcastic ? lol
From my little experience with the law of attraction, it has the same “principles” explained by Tony Robbins and nlp. Feeling significant, secure, unsecure, and so on.
As many things, it is interesting to learn a little from, without going into it blindly as when some people think TUTH will turn women so crazy that they’ll rape you in the middle of the street !
I didn’t know the law of attraction taught that. Other stuff teach you that. All that is what you found thanks to magnetism and other “schools” which use the same few principles.
Haven’t been able to play with traffic lights other than as a pedestrian though.
And A314 has been giving me more concrete things but it’s always fun to play for nothing but pleasure !
I myself believe in the LOA and I’m a Christian. When you believe you can have something and you feel the joyful feelings of already having it before you do (without allowing feelings of doubt to enter your mind)… you will most likily hold it in your hand. Doubt will keep you from having what you want most. negative feelings will limit you and keep good things from happening to you. Think of it this way… we are all made of energy (this is science) and we are all (everything in the universe) connected in this way. We attract what we think about most. This is because the things we think about cause us to have feelings that create a frequency. This frequency creates vibrations that connect to the similar frequency thus attracting it to you! I believe that yes, God does have a destiny planned for us, and if we choose to follow him we will live the best life we could possibly live. However, he also gives us control over it even if it isn’t always the best choice. It says in the Bible that our words are very powerful. LOA is great and it can work for any one, but those who are in faith and trust in God will recieve the desires of their heart at super speed and they will be more satisfied because it came from him. It has to do with the fruit of the spirit. My dad explained the whole thing to me (he’s really big on stuff like this) when I was confused about both the works of LOA and God and how they connected. My question was “If anyone can have whatever they want, then where does God come in?” God not only knows what we want, but he knows what we need. He created the LOA and he controls it. Thats just my views as a Christian on this topic ![]()
much love,
~Tiffany~
do you mean 180 degree turn around?
There’s another book out called: the Secret Laws Of Attraction
The Effortless Way to the Get Relationship You Want.
It deal alot with “If our emotional needs are unmet, we repel what we most desire. It provides a comprehensive quiz to help you identify your top 4 emotional needs”. Very useful and insightful.![]()
Attitude is extremely important, however attitude without old school ideas like hard won knowledge, consistent practice, good coaches and mentors, strong theoretical understanding, and superior technique won’t take you very far.
Anything that helps you clarify your mental state, in terms of background psychology, self image, limiting beliefs, sure, that’s all for the good and it will make a difference.
Sometimes a major difference. OTOH, I’ve also seen far too many people who’ve crashed into the rocks on the mistaken belief that attitude alone will carry the day.
There are things in my life that I’ve had to hang in there for years, slowly mastering an art, until I began to feel the essence of it. If an attitude or a belief was involved, it was a long term, long haul, gritty stick to it attitude… there have been long years where I thought I was a superconducting pain magnet… everything sucked at the cosmic level… until I realized that I was operating out of deeply ingrained ignorance and illusions that only intense focus on the learning process could change.
If I have a major beef with The Secret and all Secret-like products and systems of thinking it is that they don’t like to admit that like has many high walls of pain, confusion, and profound frustration that you won’t surmount by trying to tune in a quick transcendence on the cheap… there is such a thing as earning your place in the world, on a lot of levels, which isn’t the same as wishing your place in the world, or fantasizing your place in the world… quite a lot is based on having the stones to hang in there for the long haul, get real with yourself about your limitations, ditching the excuses and fantasy compensations, looking hard at your habits and determinedly changing behaviors that cause limitations or self harm… there’s only one way, the real way…
Your life did a complete 360??? Don’t you mean a 180 because a 360 would put you right back where you started..
We need more cowbell!!!
I was thinking the same thing when I saw that. So many people confuse that saying…anyway. I too believe in the LOA, but more importantly as John Assaraf one of the teachers in the secret states the Law of GOYA… Get Off Your Ass!
LOA has changed the way I view my entire life, in that I am no longer a victim, but the creator of whatever goes on in my life…good, bad, or ugly, I made it happen through whatever choices I made, whether that was yesterday, 5 minutes ago, or 5 years ago.
People ask me “does it work?” Well, if I found this much happiness in looking at a stale piece of cheese every day, then I would be looking at a stale piece of cheese… hope that answers your question.
Tacitus, You are the man. Just want to call it out. Thanks ![]()
Your ideas and sage advice is right on target, tacitus. The ability to hang in there and not give up and master the skills that are required to achieve success at what’s important cannot be understated. If something is so important for a person to master or achieve in his or her life, then it should be important enough to hang in there and not give up until that goal is reached. Again, great advice, tacitus.
