(Best high of my life…) Was this Sunday. I was in Heaven. Heaven on earth was recreated in my mind. I was so ridiculously happy. Literally, toe curling, back arching, singing at the top of my lungs, sun worshipping, beach loving happy.
I had a meeting in the morning, then went out to play all afternoon. I only had the 'mones on from the meeting, but they were intense.
I was in love with the world. I was in love with everyone I saw. I was in love with the sun. I was in love with plants, flowers, streetlights, the cobblestone streets. I walked on the beach for hours, listening to the sound of the waves breaking, standing in the surf and feeling the waves break on my shins. The sand glittered gold all around me. I was deeply rooted and interconnected with the rhythms of the surf and the sun. I was buffeted on one side by the moon and the other by the sun.
I ended up at a biker bar with a live band (one guy and a guitar, with his buddy the drummer). He was a biker’s biker. Rode all the old roads, and now was strumming his guitar at the beachfront bar, singing old sad songs to new, young bucks. His voice was layered with sad experience and wild old days. It sounded like crushed velvet, or a warm fire on a perfectly still night, or the crackle of a paper bag around a bottle of whiskey.
Time stood still. I followed the sun and the sand all day. Words are entirely inadequate to describe this high. I’m serious, my toes were curling and my back was arching, the pleasure and happiness was so intense. (No sex, no physical sensations - just pure, unadulterated happiness.)
It wasn’t social per se - I didn’t have really any external hits. Lots of people said “hi” to me on the streets, but I think that was more a function of my totally open and ridiculously happy body language than any pheros.
I was deep inside myself - it was a contented, deeply felt pleasure. Not a superficial Happy. A solid, deep, contentment, an interconnection to the world, a love for all things. I saw the spiritual value and utter beauty of everything.
I think you all know a little bit about me to know that this is not me.
What do you think I was wearing?
PS - The photos do not have the sparkle that was there yesterday. Where did the pink & gold glitter go? Harumph! The biker singer was incredible.
