Been having great fun with my first order (which consisted of A314b, IG, IS, and to-go sizes of IO, IH, TUTH and a free sample of IJ).
However using A314 at work has made it run out rather fast!
I need to order some more, but I’m having a think about which type..
So we’ve got a 10ml oil based a314 at $110, which includes 6,667mg of mones. 23.8mg per drop, so about 280 drops. Or 140 applications.
I don’t know how many ml you get in the spray size, but I do know you get about 40 sprays for $20, with each spray being = to 1 drop.
So 40 ‘drops’ for $20 or 280 drops for $110. Value appears to be slightly more in the oil’s favor, but not by much. I don’t know if the A314a spray is worth the extra 40% cost for “slightly” more mones in it per spray.
Cost aside, I’m keen to see what do others think about the oil vs the spray? I’ve done some searching on the forum but couldn’t find a direct conversation about it. (I don’t have access to the A314 forum, never got around to asking for it).
Sidenote - I’m in the very early twenties in a relaxed office environment (ie - not sales). Also keen on using it outside of work. I live in a cold climate.
Oil lasts longer and diffuses slower. Spray diffuses faster so it doesn’t last as long as the oil. I use 2 drops everyday of A314 oil in the morning and it lasts me til the evening when I get hone from work. With spray, you need to reapply to keep it effective but the effects are more immediate than oil. Really depends on what you prefer.
Like I said elsewhere, I can’t see the spray winning in any aspect. The oil seems to have effect as long as you usually go without a shower, unless you’re a hobo. Even if the climate is cold and the spray should diffuse better, you’ll have several layers of clothing hindering the stuff from doing it’s duty. When you get inside the oil should diffuse just fine, unless you’re an eskimo and find yourself in a god damn igloo.

If it’s close on a spray/drop per $, the longetivity of oil probably gives it the edge in terms of value.
Is oil any different from sprays in terms of cover scents / cologne destroying it?
The oil goes just fine with cover scents and they do not impair it at all.
Also think on splitting one drop between the pulse points on your wrists, to get round any clothing and on applying it over a little moisturiser/hand lotion - that seems to extend the scent/effectiveness by a good bit.
mm good point. I read a good story in someone’s journal about the benefits of applying mones over something nice like strawberry body butter from somewhere like lush/the body shop.
I’ve used both at the same time. I use the oil for work days because I’m inside and know that it will diffuse fine over time. I have spritzed myself with a spray when “guests” are showing up from corporate, or if I get called into the office for a discussion of any sort.
I’ve also used the spray when I would be on my way to pick up Steeler Girl and it was cold in the car.
In all honesty, I’ve done the A314 spray solo and I just don’t get the same effects self or otherwise that I get with the oil. I guess it just needs more testing.

I’ve seen Steve mention alcohol sprays destroy the oil. Might send him a msg for clarification.
Any sort of light moisturiser will do - I find Moulton Brown’s “Thai Vert” hand lotion pretty good and a bit longer lasting than most moisturisers. There is at least one fairly recent thread in Men’s discussing moisturiser application and longevity in much more detail.
I also keep the oil app points separate from any spray points.
The main times I use the spray is if I’m on an evening event at work and need a topup for that. I would normally wash and reapply before going out.
