I tried looking up the mall incident but couldn’t find it.
And thanks for saying this. It was definitely an eye-opening experience. ![]()

He definitely remembers. I posted on another board about a handful of texts I got after that talk at the restaurant (when he had said I was being detached and distant and awkward) where he wanted me to acknowledge my attachment to him. I said we were friends and that that WAS an acknowledgement of an emotional attachment and he said that was close enough.
He recently went on a trip and came back and needed someone to pick him up at the airport. Posted it on FB. When I didn’t volunteer, he got pissed and instead of accepting my reason (that I would be at work, which was the truth) he got mad and said it was because I still had issues about what happened that night. At that point I stopped responding. I made a mess of this friendship and don’t know if it can be fixed.
I am so sorry about what you have been through. It is an incredible loss. It seems that there are so few people we really truly connect with in this lifetime, and for it to be taken away so young just doesn’t seem right. You’re a brave lady and strong, anyone can tell from your posts, lol. I commend you for taking a deep breath and trying to get back out there. It can be tough, but hopefully worth it. There are a lot of people on this planet looking to love and be loved. It may not be exactly the same as what you had with your SO, but it can still be wonderful.
Thanks for your words ![]()
