What concentration do you buy putatives at

Since there is so much variability in putative concentration (starting at 2.5mcg and going up far higher than that), what concentration do more experienced people prefer to buy their putatives at? I know it varies based on which one you are looking at, but I am thinking of P74, P79, P83 or P93 since those are well researched and each seems to have something interesting to offer. I worry if I get too high a concentration, I will not be able to experiment by changing doses. If the concentration is too low I have to spray 6-10+ sprays to get an effect.

Would the 25mcg ToGo bottles be the best investment wrt getting the most putative, but not having the concentration so high that I cannot experiment (or so low that I end up needing 8 sprays to get an effect)? My understanding is those 4 putatives work best in the 12.5-50mcg range. I can always do a half spray of 25mcg concentration.

With the exception of one (P75 - got that one at 2.5 mcg/sp after I read on the forum that this low concentration is enough for good results) I always get my P’s and T’s at one concentration - 25 mcg/sp. Makes mixing much easier if all your stuff is the same mcg. I’ve also bought two bottles filled with just perfumers alcohol, so I can always dilute it down to something less concentrated if I want to.

I do the same as BB except I get 30 mcg concentration. P75 @ 2.5 mcg, P79 @ 20 mcg.

I always buy them at 2.5 mcg the first time, and IF that works, I up it to 5 mcg. I made the mistake of buying P75 at 5 mcg/spray to begin with. Won’t make that mistake again. Once I know what it does at 2.5 mcg/spray I can figure out the rest, and usually 5 mcg/spray is plenty. and cheap.

I never buy more than that because then I lose the resolution of control of how much I apply at once.

I do not mix pheromones together in bottles anymore… only on my skin. Sometimes this means it takes me a while to apply a mix, but it also mean I never make mistakes that waste pheromones, and it always gives me maximum flexibility.

Which bottle makes more sense economically?

TO GO 5ML at high dose of mcg per spray

or

Standard 30ML at low dose of mcg per spray and then spraying multiple times to get to that same high dose of the above to go bottle.

Since I’m really bad at math, could someone do a calculation on this for let’s say P79 TO GO 5ML of 50 mcg per spray vs P79 standard 30ML at 5 mcg per spray?

OK - I could figure it out if someone could tell me how many sprays are in a To Go bottle and I think I remember reading the To Go sprayed less than the regular bottles. Does anyone know how much less?

Putatives and Experimones are sold at per spray concentrations. So a to-go at 25mcg or a 30ml at 25mcg will spray the same amount of pheromone.

A 30ml has 200 sprays, a to-go has 40 sprays

1 to-go spray is .8333 of 1 30ml spray in volume, but as I said the amount of pheromone per spray is the amount listed on the bottle whether it’s a to-go or a 30ml.

I order mine, mostly, at 7.5mcg. I find that works well for testing…not too low, not too high.

The To Go spray is approximately 0.8 times that of the 30 ml bottle’s spray. And that means that the 30 ml bottle’s spray is approximately 1.25 times that of the To Go’s spray.

A To Go spray is approximately 10 sprays per ml, so there are around 50 sprays in each bottle.

I’m not sure which one of these is accurate for the mcg/spray stated. Since the testing absolutely need repeatability, I assume it is the To Go, and only use that measurement when testing. I transfer some of the content of a 30 ml bottle to a To Go spritzer to ensure that the same volumes of product are used every time.

To answer the other questions of the thread start: I always get my test molecules in 12.5 mcg/spray. If one spray seems too strong I dilute it down, sometimes as far as 1.25 mcg/spray.

If I really like the molecule and want to test it in combination with others in a mix I will order it at a higher dosage, either 25 or 50 mcg/spray, since mixing dilutes the molecule.

My feelings are this: You can always dilute a concentrated product. You can never make a dilute product more concentrated (without specialized equipment). Since pheromones are expensive, I always do initial test with a To Go at mid range dosage before investing in a large, concentrated bottle. That way there is very little chance for waste.

OK - did some calculations. It looks like the To Go bottles in high Mcg tend to be worth more yet cheaper than using multiple sprays of 30ml bottle lower in mcg.

I compared p74
ToGo at 50 mcg
Standard at 5 mcg, which requires 10 sprays to gets to 50 mcg
Standard at 50 mcg

If you want 50 mcg, the to go gives you 50 applications (1 spray to get to 50 mcg) where as the standard 30 ml of 5 mcg gives you only 20 applications (10 sprays to get to 50 mcg). For the To Go, the price is only $6 more but you get 16 weeks at 3 applications per week where as for the standard you get only roughly 7 weeks at 3 applications per week. So that’s more than twice the number applications / fun we get to have to with to go bottles at stronger strength.

Of course,I might be wrong - please review my calculations! Or any feedback is welcome. Thanks

!2.5 Mcg is the standard and what Androtics has always suggested for testing putatives. You will find you may need more of less and I am not sure how they came up with this number.

I always start with 12.5 because when I first start using its for testing and reporting purposes. After that I adjust what I buy according to my results with the first bottle or if I plan to make my own mixes with it.
