This is perhaps a silly question - but an honest one none the less. I’ve run into this dilemma -
What happens if someone comments that you smell really good, and asks what you’re wearing? If you’re not wearing anything other than a phero (perhaps TUTH, etc), what do you say?
Has this come up for anyone else, and how have you guys dealt with the situation?
Just say neroli scent, after all that’s what the Instant Line is based on. Or just cover these with your own cologne, so all they smell is your cologne which does have a “normal” name than “TUTH.”
I’d never wear a largely unscented mone like TUTH or NPA without cover. Sure TUTH has a tiny amount of neroli EO, but it’s not enough to cover the piss/BO funk of androstenone. Even if you’re among the large minority of men unable to smell androstenone, all women can smell it. It really only acts as an attractant when she reacts on a subconscious level. SMelling like you need a shower is a turnoff for most women. So I always tell them the truth: Burberry Weekend or Issei Miyake.
Akuto- Body Kouros
FF21- Green Irish Tweed
FF22- Silver Mountain Water (just made an ICM 1a scented with this and it really does smell a lot like FF22)
If I’m wearing a cover cologne then I tell them whatever scent I’m wearing.
According to what I’m wearing, I would give an “equivalent” name. The same name of a real scent for one pheromone product.
If ever someone says “Oh, I know the scent but I can’t recognize it now” I would just answer “Yeah ? Well, the reaction must be different on my skin” or "it’s because I play with scents and I mix it with #another name# ".
I typically tell them it’s a secret, which gets them interested. Then I play “Smell it some more and see if you can guess.” They usually smell it several times before I tell them that it’s a poison that’s delivered through scent, at which time I have a good laugh and i they’re still persisting, I tell them it’s “a new exotic called Akuto”, or “it’s a custom cologne I created for myself” if I am wearing a custom pheromone mix that is otherwise unscented.
Well for me I have categories of cologne being fresh, fruit, musky, or powdery. I usually tell people that I rather not say because between not wearing it all the time and keeping the good reactions to myself is a defense tactic so that my persay scent isn’t “exposed”. Some colognes I love to use have become so generic because men go and drown the world with it and then i can’t use it anymore. Its funny but compared to lots of users on here I never get compliments on scent so I don’t worry about appropriate responses too often.
