Here’s how I see it: You never really “ghost”. It’s all about congruence and your environment.
Let’s say you’re going to the library to study for a test. You dress up as a terrorist member of Taliban and walk in with an AK47. Are people going to avoid you? Yes. Now let’s say you go to a terrorist meeting where you want to scheme a new plot. You wear the same outfit and have the same gun with you, but you walk around smiling and greet everyone politely. Are people going to avoid you? Yes.
In the first case, you had a very aggressive demeanor, and no matter what your attitude, you were going to be avoided. No one will want to talk to you. If you do manage to strike up some conversation, people will do their best to leave ASAP.
In the second case, you had the appropriate outward look, but your actions were inappropriate for the situation and did not match your appearance. (Well, as far as I know, nobody smiles at a terrorist convention!) People will think you’re weird and will not want to associate with you.
In the first case, you did not wear the right thing for the situation. This could be interpreted as putting on the wrong mones, or putting on too much.
In the second case, you wore the right thing, but did not play the part correctly. This could be interpreted as putting on the right mones, but not being congruent.
Now, what am I trying to get at? Two things:
- You must wear something appropriate for the event you are attending.
- You must act the part of the person you are trying to emit (using peromones.)
When you’re trying to decide what to put on before you go out, think about the kind of person you want people to think of you as.
Wearing something appropriate:
A314 vs. AMMO. They both offer respect. However, A314 is much more serious than AMMO. I could get more detailed here, but I’ll try and stay on topic.
Act the part:
A314.. it offers respect, trust, and indirectly, sexiness. You can play it off as a boss that is feared and one that people listen to. OR a fatherly figure that you can go to for help. OR Ryan Gosling (Hah, my mancrush)
Man, I got really off-topic! You asked what ghosting is, and I gave some tips on how to avoid it.. LOL Anyway, I’ll sum up and try to address the question.
Everything I mentioned above happens at the subconscious level. When you “ghost” people are just receiving mixed signals. They’re not sure what to think, and this causes discomfort. People avoid you to get back into their comfort zone.
I just wanted to touch on one more thing: intimidation vs. ghosting.
In my experience, intimidation occurs just before you’re about to ghost. It’s a small zone, but it does exist. It happens because your social status vibe is given to be so high, that people are afraid to approach you, because they fear rejection.
The signs of ghosting and intimidation are almost the same. The best way to tell whether you’re ghosting or are just coming off as intimidating is to approach your target. If your target opens up quickly, then you were probably giving off an intimidating vibe. If you approach, and even after a while, your target is looking for excuses to leave, then you’re probably ghosting.
Now “What’s ‘ghosting’ and why is this happening to me?” you may ask. Well.. Here’s how I see it: You never really “ghost”. It’s all about congruence and your environment.
