Will Androtics Ever Make an Affiliate Program?

I’ve been dying to promote it.

If you ever decide to make one, let me know.

I dont work here,

No I dont think they would. Affiliate sites are so cheesy and I think they intend to go in another direction from Jasmin and Steve’s “Universal” posts.

You have no real control when people affiliate for you. Just think about all those review sites out there who are really just affiliate sellers spewing bull crap to make you buy the product with the biggest commision. People trust this place more because they dont practice that. People often post in the intro section the reason they come here and stay is because we are not like all those other sites that are just trying to make a buck. We appear and of course are more legit because Androtics is not associated with those practices.

I for one, hope they keep it that way.

Hmm, I think you have a misconception of affiliate programs.

Lending Tree, CitiFinancial, Discover, HSBC, EBay, Cars.com, Zales, Macy’s, Zappos, Deckers, Marriot, Priceline, HP, Dell, Apple, Symantec, Adobe, Blockbuster/Netflix, DirectTV, etc. and too many more to list.

These companies and almost 99% of every single one you’ve ever shopped at have affiliate programs.

The cheesiness and lack of control over the program only happen in networks where there is lack of control. Commission Junction and Linkshare are fantastic affiliate networks with very good quality control.

On both CJ and Linkshare, merchants can filter affiliate applications and only approve the ones that fit their requirements, in addition to creating strict agreements. For example, ToysRUs doesn’t allow you to promote their site using coupons/deals, and if you do, you get kicked off. CJ has very strict guidelines for affiliates and oversees a network of thousands.

I think the stereotypical affiliates you’re thinking of are the Pherlure/scam type and that’s understandable. But there are some extremely legit and genuine affiliate programs out there, not limited to the ones I mentioned above. You would be surprised how many places you shop from have affiliate programs.

But anyways, thanks for your input

And as usual, I agree with Tisha.

I have seen dozens of affiliate sites for Lending Tree, e-Bay, Priceline, CitiCard, Discover and other credit card or loan offers that are misleading. And, receive spam e-mails everyday promoting them. Most of the spam mail has bullshit subject lines trying to entice you to open them.

Most scammers or those set on burning affiliate bridges start out with an acceptable marketing campaign to get approved, then once they are, turn to unacceptable and enethical practices and hope they don’t get caught.

Many products and/or services are great for affiliate marketing. Everybody knows Blockbuster, NetFlix, Macy’s, Dell, Apple, Direct TV, Walmart, Sears, etc, and it would be pretty hard to refer somebody to their sites using misleading or fraudulent tactics. Pheromones are a different beast and there is limited potential for affiliations with websites or companies that could properly market them.

An approved banner ad on some of the PUA sites and forums would probably be great. Websites popping up all over the place with Androtics products and unapproved messages is another story.

Those are all large well known companies where people know the product and you cant make false claims to draw people in and buy from there. They will shop there regardless.

Pheromones are a whole different ball game. There are so many dishonest sites being advertised on half ass affiliate sites it would be more damaging then it would be good in my opinion. You know what your gonna get when you shop at Macys or Blockbuster. People have confidence in those products when they purchase from them. Mones are still taboo to alot of people They are unsure if they work or if its real or not. I am sure someone like you would be honest and advertise as you should but they wouldnt be able to track all the affiliates all the time.

Spam would be another huge problem. I cant say if they ever will have a affilate program or not but my vote would be no.

No I wouldnt, I am well versed in them and make it as point to not buy from the affilate link. The only store I shop at that you mentioned is Macy’s because they are in my mall and I always shopped there. I avoid the rest because of the affilate programs.

That’s true. I just did some searching and realized there are a lot of scammy sites out there. I guess you guys are right, it makes sense to keep the trustworthy image intact, which is probably why Androtics is so successful in the first place.

Alrighty then, long live Androtics.

That’s why they seen my money and other places haven’t. I wouldn’t have taken the leap of faith with any other company. I didn’t search for very long, nor hard, but I’ve waded through oceans of BS on the web and when AD was presented to me the way it was, I felt that it was legit enough and went for it.

It’s been a long winding rabbit hole so far…

I’m with you about 99% of the way. Affiliate programs which in the past have had a bad reputation, are today generally well administered programs that are to the benefit of everyone involved, including consumers. Especially the programs at reputable affiliate networks like Commision Junction and Linkshare.

BUUUUUT…

We are in a unique position for several reasons. First, Androtics is one of the few reputable companies in an industry full of scams. The public’s understanding of what pheromones are and do is made up almost entirely of misconceptions. Then add in that the public approval level of pheromones is somewhere between pawn shops and witchcraft.

I think we can see why public promotion of Androtics needs to be carefully controlled, limited, and focused. With a closed constant feedback loop that allows realtime adjustment of advertisment content and placement according to public response.

Sounds like a job for hired guns.

The business of affiliate marketing is a very nice and great overall. Of course its not perfect and there are many spammers and cheesy sites out there promoting junk but there are also honest affiliate marketers that are genuine and promote great quality products. The most successful affiliate marketers are those who promote quality products and they are making a very nice living out of it. But calling affiliate marketing scammy is very incorrect.

I am not saying every single affiliate marketer is bad. While I avoid them if I perhaps know the person running it and happen to be shopping at something they affiliate for I may use there link so they get credit.

But let me tell you, almost 100% of the spam we get on this forum and there is alot is from affiliate marketers selling anything from Pharmaceuticals to sneakers.

When you look at it from the end of the person battling these affiliate spammers it gives you a whole different outlook on the whole practice.

Tisha

I completely agree!!

Yeah I agree, but how about when you start looking at it in the view of an honest affiliate marketer? Its a 50/50 situation.
