I want to start a thread for the worst product you have ever used…as in worst for you, i.e. it didn’t go well with your body chemistry. Also products which simply didn’t have enough pheromones or diffusion or delivery method may also be mentioned. Describe little bit about the effects it produced (or no effects) and the reason why you hate it.
For me it was Alter Ego. Hell, even APC worked for me to some extent but AE produced such obvious avoidance reactions that it was unbelievable. Even though it is not known to have a bad stank I had people moving out of my way, avoid eye contact and altogether my presence. Needless to say I returned it within two weeks. I was always surprised to read good reviews about it…maybe it just didn’t gel with my body chemistry.
i’ve tried probably 20 different pheromone products and naturally several of them were worthless but none have left me with as negative an impression and opinion as chikara. to me, that crap smells like i dove into a vat of pancake syrup, and amazingly enough, i’ve got an equal number of “hits” as if i did just that.
The absolute worst product I’ve used was Rogue Male. I theory it sounded good, like it would be APC w/ a kick…kind of like the Jambat mix found on the LS forum. Didn’t work as well as planned…at least for me, I got ALL negative responses from this product. I still have that bottle after around 3-4 years…it’s the only pheromone product I’ve had that long.
Heh.. I’ve had ok hits with things like Rogue Male and AE. Those are expected to to be tougher pheremones though as they are high in -none. The absolute worst I’ve tried was WAGG!!! That has to be some sort of wimp pheremone or something. I may as well just sit there and “wagg my butt” like some loser, because that is exactly the type of hits it subconsciously gives.
At the very least every other product gave me some sort of ok hit. The Jambat mix (high in none) was my favorite which consisted of APC+NPA, my to favorites off that site.
perception is mine. leaky atomizers, water based carrier which actually started smelling like it went bad (water isn’t as sterile as alcohol and oil), and I had very little results from it. It smelled pretty good at first, and the concept of a carrier which can extend the life of the mones was attractive initially. Wasn’t all it was cracked up to be though.
The worst product I ever tried has to be “The Edge”. Works like gangbusters: 2 sprays and I turn into a foul mouthed irritable a$$hole. One spray makes me somewhat irritable. And no other response for me. Straight to overdose.
APC ranks second, because at least it smells fairly good. I never got hit one from it either.
My “worst one” is “worst” for a very different reason. I had this good friend who was old. A couple of years ago, he had some problems and was taken to the doctor. The doctor informed us that his body was shutting down and don’t bother bringing him back. This was in September. He began declining. He went from briskly walking with a cane and trimming trees to needing a walker, to a wheel chair, to not being able to get out of bed, to death. He died in November of that year 4 months short of his 100th birthday. During his decline, he developed a certain scent that filled his room. That scent is the same as APC. So APC is my worst because it reminds me of a dieing person I had to care for.
Primal Instict has caused literally “curl up in a defensive ball” reactions with one of my main “subjects,” although when I tried it with some a314 as a “control rod” I didn’t get that bad reaction. But I also haven’t seen any “good” or what I would call positive reactions with PI as yet (or any heavy -none product for that matter like NPA or Edge) from anyone. Only keep it around for experimental purposes at the moment.
Perception had rotten spray atomizers. Plus as far as I could tell I got nada from it in terms of any sort of response. I went through an entire bottle with little result. Experimented with gel-packs. Same lack of response. I did get one possible “perception of being younger than I am” comment one day when I tried two pack application. That’s been about it. It DID seem to extend the “useful life” of colognes applied under it, so the carrier may be of some value (I still have the cover scent atomizer which I may decide to use again some day). Otherwise the product was a bust.
Impi “release 2” - can’t really say it’s in the “worst” catagory because the bottle I got leaked so badly I didn’t have much to work with (wore it about twice, and the first time was when I unpacked it and got the stuff all over me). Wasn’t wild about the cover scent either so was not as motivated to experiment as much as I could have. Plus I had just gotten my Androtics shipment and was having fun with that! Pretty sure it’s something I won’t be ordering again.
All of this of course is all pretty subjective and may only be due to my own body chemistry, personality, experience, and personal preferences. What works for one doesn’t always work for someone else.
LOL… that was my prob with the womens version… i call it barfight in a bottle,lol, and i STILL use it!!! i was always foulmouthed, cant blame the 'mones…
A1 - no noticable rxn. Not sure if it is due to A1 or the fact that I’m preoccupied with the nasty splitting headache that I get every time I wear this.
The first pheromone product that I ever purchased was Lure for women. That stuff smells like my grandmother’s ancient cologne that she has had sitting in her bathroom for years. I didn’t see any results with it either. Maybe it’s because I smelled like my grandmother.
Worst product I ever used was one I bought about 10 years ago from a direct mail ad. Its name escapes me and spillage washed the ink off the label. All I can read on it is 'Brooklyn, NY." It had a strong musk scent to it and I felt overpowered, apprehensive, and self-conscious with only a dab behind each ear. I wore this to a nightclub one night, where I caught a guy with his hand in my sports jacket pocket. I gave him the chance to just blend into the crowd and get away, but he came back at least three times after that to confront me!
Next in line is NPA/the Edge. I can wear TE in very small doses, otherwise it gives me attitude problems. Don’t have the problem with Impi, but have not seen anything positive with any of the LaCroy products.
And after a bout of road rage that almost got me pulled over, I have stopped using Altar Ego too.
Either that or I can give it to my grandmother so she can wear it. Then she will have all of the neighborhood “grandpas” after her.
