Is it framed and resting on your bedside table so that you can go to sleep and wake up to it? The only thing to keep you company during your birthday that everyone else has forgotten. As you gaze longingly into the eyes of the purple smiley face that took Jacob mere fractions of a second to draw, you realise that it has kept you company for hundreds of thousands of times over its conception.
You let out a tear that hits the glass, and casually streams down towards the bottom of the frame. As you are about to wipe it away - you realise what that tear represents. Your solitude. Your hate. Your love. You.
You watch the tear as it rolls down and rests along the top of the bottom of the frame. You smile quietly and softly to yourself.
