The Night: It started off at my place. Our little group met there and I had a bit of food ready to go. I figured we might as well have food beforehand so we can save our money for fun and drinks and whatever else. As I said before, the girl that gave me an ice cold reception when I was wearing MX422 x4 and I haven’t talked to since then was present. This is notable to start it here because this is where it got very interesting.
So everyone comes in and sits down on the couch. I do my “good host” thing as usual. There’s food out in the living room. It’s got a little cold because people showed up later than they were supposed to. Oh well. That’s what microwaves are for right?
At any rate, I make the suggestion that if people want to save their money for drinks they might want to grab a plate. First, of course, I ask everyone if they’d like something to drink. I’m grabbing ice and all that good stuff, migrating back and forth from one side of the kitchen to the other. Things are still a bit awkward between me and Ms. Chillz. We don’t really talk. I don’t even think I got a hug when she comes in.
But then the strangest things happens. Now, where they are sitting and where I am at is maybe 5 to 10 ft away. It’s not that far and with me coming in and out, plus being all over the kitchen, and the time that has elapsed, my nomes have definitely gone to work by this point I’m sure. So what happens next? She makes a plate and puts it in the microwave to warm it up. Nothing special, right? …
Wrong! Well. Maybe not. I don’t know. But you are missing the point! Hahaha! Suddenly, we go from cold to cordial just like that. In fact, for pretty much the rest of the time she doesn’t leave the kitchen. Everyone else is in the living room but she doesn’t return to her seat. I suddenly have her undivided attention… and for like no reason! I didn’t even try to get it. She’s smiling. She’s friendly. It’s like she just latched on to me out of nowhere and doesn’t have any intentions of going anywhere else. HUH?!
At any rate, we are eventually all ready to roll and we head out to the bar. The problematic aspect of this all is that I WAS talking to her but I was pretty much done after that chilly experience, so one of my buddies took interest. I’m still like whatever. We find a booth and he sits next to her with some friends and I sit across with everyone else. I’m trying to sense out my surroundings but at the same time focus on my friends. The bar was pretty casual. The waitress was alright. I did get some pretty big smiles from a few of the hostesses. OH! Did I mention that I forgot to bring my CAM! DOH! Grrr… sighs
The fascinating thing is that he is totally flirting it up with her. But whenever I wanted her attention it wasn’t even hard. I could break right in just like that. I’m sitting diagonally across so we are on opposite opposite ends. The booth wasn’t that huge but still. And she did give me those starry eyed stares. I’d catch her just smiling wide and staring at me from time to time. Maybe the drinks had start to hit and that had something to do with it, too. shrugs I don’t know what to think about that. She’s a great lady. Sure. You snooze you lose? I don’t know. But shrugs I don’t know. Then there’s my buddy. No reason for me to step on toes. I gotta watch out for my “bros.”
Either way, at some point she questioned me after we left the bar about why I hadn’t been in touch. She apologized for that night and blah blah blah. Do over. Blah blah blah. shrugs Whatever. I’m not to worried about it.
We head to the club. This was more of what I was interested in seeing, anyways. We mingle our way up to the bar. Right away I notice two beautiful women not that far from me. They make their way close and stop not that far away. I can feel their eyes lasering me in the back of my head. I look and catch a few glances. There is no reason for them to stand there because they are halfway between the bar counter and the dance floor. Almost like a limbo area. I notice this repeat several times over the night. Women would stop in this limbo section while I was at the bar within about a good 5 to 10 feet of me. They would talk and whisper and whatever with their girlfriends and if I was slick I could lock eyes with them for a few seconds from time to time.
The mix didn’t make me feel super confident. I’ve had mixes that made me feel almost drunk level and/or beyond confident. I’m naturally shy and this didn’t really put me over the hump. I almost did talk to this really gorgeous lady that like stopped dead in front of me. It was the weirdest things. She was just walking by the bar and then she stops. LIKE TWO FEET AWAY. She looks up at me and stares for a few seconds. No words. I’m like wow. But right before I can say a thing her boyfriend swoops in from behind and moves her along. She was giving me some hard stares all night, though. Even my friend noticed it. She was a definite 9 if not a 10. Those other first two girls were a little older but in the 8 to 9 category as well. Come to find out they were from Florida (go figure).
But I stayed put. It was my friend’s night and I wanted to keep my focus somewhat centered on making sure she had fun. Or maybe that was my excuse. I’m not the greatest dancer, especially to the music they were playing and that did hold me back some. Fear is such a silly thing, right?
But did I finally go for it? Did I take advantage of the extra charm this mix was giving me. Did I stare fear in the face and laugh methodically (no. Not maniacally!)? HA! To be continued…
Not! I got you. Well, maybe not unless you forgot to scroll down the page. The fact of the matter was, it went south but no fault to my hardworking nomes. They were doing a great job. I did finally get out there and dance after a drink or two. It was nice. Even got one ridiculously WILD dance but I think that’s because the girl had had more than her fair share of drinks. Still… wowsers. 
One way or another, the night was cut short because someone in our group, I won’t name names, managed to overdo it a little. You know how that can be. Oopsy! puke puke puke So we spent the rest of the night playing doctor. Things were just getting good too! The night was still young. We could have easily squeezed another two hours out of it. Oh well.
One possibly notable thing about that wild dance. The girl I was dancing with ran us into people quite a bit. The dance floor was crowded but I was like… yikes! The interesting thing is… and maybe this was because I was just so thoroughly engrossed or I don’t know… but I didn’t notice people getting mad or giving us dirty looks or anything. In fact, as I’m like “yikes” I’m looking at the people we just bumped into and time and time again they seemed to be smiling and in their own zone. Don’t ask me why! Was it the cloud of nomes buzzing around to keep the crowd at bay? Some secrets are best left up to ones’ imagination. Nonetheless, it was a fun and very interesting night as far as my first special report goes.
