142 users today (130+ real people)!

I noticed, did you?

142 users were on today, for the first time. I checked, and only a few of these were google and yahoo spiders. Just tons of tons and real people at different IPs. I counted about about 10 content spiders max, so that means there something like 132 real people. I think that’s our record for actual people on the forum at the very same time. Wow!!!

Yay, people who aren’t nonexistant! Now, remember this day five years from now when 'mones have caught on and you get that much on a -bad- day.

Unless they become a fad, that’s not going to happen. They seem to be following a more Alvin Toffler-esque acceptance curve. Unless something dramatic happens (a major movie with Brad Pitt that features pheromones), expect about another 40 years.

If Pherin Pharmaceuticals actually pushes through the prescription pheromone product they’ve been planning, that, too, could help to burst them onto the scene of mainstream consciousness. (think about the market for herbal products that the promulgation of Viagra created)

Now, if they DO became a fad, you can be sure I’m going to have my uplifting mixes ready!

I’d hate to see the world filled with androstenone heavy mixes (I think these should remain as a relatively small niche), but I’d love to see people swimming in Liquid Sunshine and Instant Openness based mixes. We could has something like a modern 60s, but modernized (and potentially smarter, with more lasting power).

If random acts of lust went up and STDs quietly faded into the background like they did in the 60’s, that’d be great too. I don’t see how all those people had all that unprotected sex and came out of it relatively unscathed, but more power to 'em. Wait…I think my Dad was one of -ABORT POST, ABORT POST!-

There are so many intelligent people alive today. Geniuses. Higher education is also more popular than ever. We live in an era where technology develops at a breakneck pace. Witness how video cards double in capability every single year – anything can do that with enough goal focused R&D.

I have no doubts we could accomplish breakthroughs that would allow the above.

Unfortunately, we live in a legislative environment that doesn’t seem too pleased with that notion.

When I was researching what would be involved to make pheromonally enhanced sexual lubricant, for instance, I couldn’t help but notice how they’ve stomped down on manufacturers that were making “lube” which included chemical components shown to be antivirual in numerous peer reviewed studies. What a blessing antiviral lube would be! Even if it wasn’t perfect (what is, or rather, what doesn’t get better with time?), it would be a wonderful start.

Yet it’s not allowed. They seem to want to keep people as sick and scared as possible, to keep them beholden to the monster known as the medical industry. Can’t put anything in that lube which might have a chance of killing a virus… Nope. After all, it could dangerous to the health & well-being of a bigger money industry, which hasn’t cured anything of significance since polio. (and they didn’t even do it; Jonas Salk did, a man who was hated vehemently by the medical establishment!)

Deprecated, ineffective technologies consume far more $$$ than truly effective ones, so I guess someone is gaining from this somewhere. Too bad this suppresses the evolution of the entire world. I’d sure love to wake up next year, with twice the capability to express myself, along with twice the love and double joy, as I did earlier this morning!

For now, I guess we’ll just have to enjoy those damn video cards outpacing the evolution of humanity itself… and enter into synthetic worlds created by computer programmers. Definitely not my preference (I’d rather see the world itself as my playground), but I guess it’s better than nothing. (Anything looks mighty good, when compared to a complete and utter void)

And, hey, for now we do have pheromones, right? At least that’s one real world toy “from the future” that we can play with today. Something to get us out the house, and keep us from “pixel fatigue”. I know that I’ve been having more fun with real, flesh n’ blood people the past few years than ever.

We were really, really lucky…ah yes, the “Summer of Love”…the year I graduated from high school.

So very, very lucky. I’m sure it was fun save for the fading yet prominent segregation, the constant appearance of people in Riot Gear, and lack of internet. I guess you guys -needed- the extra sex to get through the day.
