I will do that. I’m doing my part…it’s a big step just for her to agree to some alone time, so I know we’ve been making progress. Just to help you understand my personality, this is a quote from one of her recent e-mails telling me who I am to her, maybe three days ago:
“you’re kind and generous, loving, considerate, you’re compassionate, thoughtful and emotional but strong. You’re caring in a way that I’ve really only seen my dad be. You’re funny, sarcastic, a f’n smartass. You’re attentive and gentle and selfless. You made me feel like I was the only girl in the world, like when we were together, nothing else existed, the world stopped turning. You took care of me when I was sick, and of (her daughter) when I couldn’t. You picked her up from school, had talks with her and made sure she knew she could trust you, and she did. You made me feel like I never had to worry about you wanting or being with another woman. I always knew that no matter how bad my day was, when I’d finally get to lay down in your arms, I’d feel like I was floating, safe and nothing can bother me anymore. You had no problem cleaning when you knew I’d had a long day at work. You made me feel like you absolutely adored me. You made me smile. A lot. Laugh, a lot. You never made me feel like I couldn’t have it my way if I really wanted. I always felt appreciated and I gotta tell you, that’s a big one. Feeling appreciated is amazing. You gave me peace. You gave me a quiet mind. Simply put, you made me happy. It felt effortless. It felt incredible. It felt too good to be true.”
It’s a lot to accomplish, but that’s what I’m trying to get back to next week.
