A314 vs Panel on a Interview

It was around 20ºC, sunny, nice weather. I got up, showered and used hugo boss to the chest and one drop of A314 on each wrist (im 26yo so i think its enough). Got out because I had an interview to attend. I arrived to the place and was welcomed by two ladies. One was early 30s and the other late 40s. All is good…they were nice! Entered the room for the interview and the panel was composed by 3 women and one man. All middle-aged and dressed corporate smart. I was the focus of attention because I was being interviewed but I felt that the women were really into my voice, gestures and mild ice break jokes. The guy was really reserved, smirked at the jokes but was looking impatient with my long answers. I dont know any of those people but the women were REALLY nice and smiley and stuff but he was very “solid” in terms of composure…well thats the best word to describe him…it was that “you are not so hot son” kind of attitude. Dont know if Im gonna get approval from the panel but…

Any comments on this?

Cheers,
Legs

Come on…some input please!?

it does not sound bad. I think you did pretty well.

There was a little bit of psychology going on there. That guy - either consciously or sub-consciously - probably considered himself the “rooster” with all those hens. Not only did he have to make sure you knew he was “in charge”, one way or the other he had to assert himself with the ladies. Maybe even a little bit more with your A314.

The good news was that the ladies were friendly. They probably thought well of you if they did not ask a whole lot of critical questions.

No do not take that as a bad sign. You showed yourself to be a knowledgeable, in charge kinda guy. I am sure that went over well. so even if the guy felt like he needed to upstage your “alpha” a little bit I am sure that he still went away thinking “That kid is OK” to himself. Or maybe “That kid is OK but he sure can talk.” lol.

Either way I think you did well.

The next time maybe think about adding a little IH to the mix so people feel more connected to you. They may even open up and tell you what they need or want to hear from you.

Cheers for the positive input! I have to be honest…the guy did put me off a bit :stuck_out_tongue: I didnt buy IH yet I only have IO and IS do you think it is worth mixing those with A314? Maybe 2 drops is not enough for me…Or maybe cos I dont have an imponent physic people find my signature strange?! hmmm I wonder…

How well A314 works with a guy is more age and personality dependent than based on physique. Ammo or certainly TUTH works better with physique. Not that you need big shoulders to make them work - just kinda highlights that whole vibe.

A lot of guys do Ammo with IShine to offset any distance the A314 creates. I would use Ishine (upbeat, young alpha) over IO personally.

Remember congruency is very important with A314.

Yep I agree…IS with A314 might be interesting! Im 26 and have I vibrant personality, very talktive and upbeat but I think Im beta so A314 has been great for work, specially when dealing directly with my boss lol! He doenst demands anymore he asks politely and asks for opinions and stuff which is awsome. About the Panel…well fingers crossed…will get an answer in the end of June

I wouldn’t read too much into it. I sit on hiring committees all the time and each member has a fairly consistent professional persona they present to the applicant. So those whom appear pleasant, standoffish, impressed, bored, etc., are that way during most interviews. Sheesh we often interview dozens of people so not much fazes us one way or another. Well, if you stripped naked we’d rise an eyebrow. What amazes me is we get 50 or 60 extremely over qualified applicants from the other side of the earth competing for the same job. So interviewing is a real grind. We’d all rather be somewhere else…

Personally I’m usually mildly irritated when apps joke around too much or give long winded BS answers, so keep it professional and concise. Realize once you get to the interview stage they believe you are qualified, at least on paper, and are testing your professional persona and communication skills.

I wear A314 at work and find it really needs a good jolt of androstenol and/or TAA to keep it social. By itself it creates too much distance and is standoffish. Next time add SOE, Spaceland or IO. It’s a confident but friendly alpha vibe rather than “I’m the frickin’ big kahuna” vibe.

I agree with BossHank and Gegogi here. When I used to start up companies we would form a panel when hiring the Supervisors. (Hiring Supervisors for a start-up is not as easy as it seems when the employee pool has never seen or heard of your type of business). What I would do is have my two Senior managers do the initial interview and then they would refer to me. In the initial interview I was always a nice guy to gain rapport with them and get them talking and lax, if you will.

Then we would bring them to panel interviews and in each interview we all had a job to do. One would be very difficult, one super sweet, and one mid range. It was idealistic to understand how they worked with each personality. At one point in the interview after one of us had them relay their greatest accomplishment the difficult one of us, would say, “quite frankly that’s not very impressive. In fact I find you not very impressive at all compared to our other candidates!”

At this point there was a very uncomfortable silence in the room and we waited for the interviewee to respond. Most instances they were like, “well I’m certain given the right opportunity I can shine for you and prove just how valuable of an asset I can be.” That answer was always brilliant and we would immediately let them know that was a test and they successfully passed.

One instance the lady jumped up and started cussing the difficult interviewer (thank heavens it wasn’t me that time). She went through anger, resentment, then into regret. We let her know it was a test and that we would be calling her if there was a position for her.

The guy was tasked to make you intimidated, after all he will be your boss soon enough. Is that the phone ringing in the background. Congratulations on the new job

Well it was for a PhD scholarship interview…and now you guys got me worried lol…by the way when I said “joking” I meant very engaging and passioned while giving answers in a way that is not too corporate or rigid…and I was no circus clown either obviously…but hei we have to make mistakes to learn. Next time I will be more “professional” and somehow a bit more stiff, direct and blunt… i guess!:frowning::cool:

Sounds like you did okay.

Don’t wear Turn Up the Heat in any kind of professional environment.

I don’t recommend Instant Honesty either. One should be truthful, but there are things that people don’t need to know and there is a risk of affecting yourself as much as the interviewer.

TAC and P86 probably would be quite helpful.

With A314 it can be helpful to pay people the respect that they feel they are due when appropriate. Without A314 doing that might be seen as sucking up; with A314 it might be more gracious.

hmmm I see! Cheers for the input… Of course I would never use TUTH for work! Im gonna check my hits while on IS and IO cos I didnt experiment enough with it.

And did somebody walk you to the elevator? and ask you how you thought it went?

That was part of the interview too.

OoohYahhh

eheheheheheh
