No kidding… they make this thingie that is a low pressure handheld O2 dispenser… no prescription or anything… it takes little cylinders that look like modified aeorsol cans, you can get several deep breaths of pure oxygen with each can… maybe ten lungfulls total… the first 3-4 are definitely the strongest hits until the pressure fades…
Like, how am I not going to check this thing out ? So I set up the dispenser by my bed in order to test it’s wake up power… wake up the next day, take about 6 lung filling breaths with a slow exhale…
Strange… marvellous… nothing so noticable at first as you would imagine from watching too many movies… the o2 effect is sort of delayed actually, then this crystal clear sparkly freshness comes over the body-mind… nothing stimulating, only as if the o2 metabolic pathways have been flushed clear, definitely more energy to the step, more coherent, sharper thinking…
I have heard about Japanese businessman hotels where they have tiny rooms with o2 enriched air so their brains are sharper the next day…
and now… it had to happen, right… low pressure hyperbaric bags for your health club ?
we should all have one of these, good for the older dog too… probably..
make sure to put out that cigarette…
If oxygen in our atmosphere is at 21% now, and used to be 35% 5. The Origin of Our Oxygen-Rich Atmosphere
3 February 2004. When Giants Had Wings and 6 Legs. By HENRY FOUNTAIN, New York Times. Before the dinosaurs, it was the insects that were huge. Why? It may have been the air… There was an array of giant flightless insects, and a five-foot-long millipede-like creature, Arthropleura, that resembled a tire tread rolled out flat. But perhaps the most remarkable of all were the giant dragonflies, Meganeuropsis permiana and its cousins, with wingspans that reached two and a half feet. They were the largest insects that ever lived. These large species thrived about 300 million years ago, when much of the land was lush and tropical and there was an explosion of vascular plants (which later formed coal, which is why the period is called the Carboniferous). But the giant species were gone by the middle to late Permian, some 50 million years later. Scientists have long suspected that atmospheric oxygen played a central role in both the rise and fall of these organisms. Recent research on the ancient climate by Dr. Robert A. Berner, a Yale geologist, and others reinforces the idea of a rise in oxygen concentration - to about 35 percent, compared with 21 percent now - during the Carboniferous. Because of the way many arthropods get their oxygen, directly through tiny air tubes that branch through their tissues rather than indirectly through blood, higher levels of the gas might have allowed bigger bugs to evolve… “It’s been out there in the literature for a long time without a causal mechanism,” said Dr. Robert Dudley, a professor at the University of California at Berkeley who has studied the effects of elevated oxygen pressures on modern insects. …Dr. Jon F. Harrison, a professor at Arizona State … said, “It’s still in the realm of speculation.”
I think that mammals/warm blooded creatures are the only creatures on Earth that eventually stop growing, thats why insects/reptiles/ect, were able to grow so large; more food & other nutrients. Dragons/dinosaurs were prolly just really really old lizards or something like that.
tac knows what he is doing, but for others might want to be aware of the potential for damage from oxidative stress if used in excess. (I don’t know what excess would be though).
Thre’s are remarkable nuances to this… to be continued…
On the subject of oxidative stress, long term pure oxygen will burn the lungs, as I was told by a pulmonologist… however, there is reasonably extensive use of high pressure hyperbaric oxygen (up to 6 atmospheres, like diving about 200 feet) which should give us some information about extreme oxygenation…
In my case the most extreme is about 12 deep lungfulls of sea-level pressure oxygen… this seems to leave a significant residual oxygen source bound to the hemoglobin or myoglobin that assists oxidative metabolism… less healthy metabolism, the one that makes the most waste product, is the secondary set of metabolic pathways that don’t use oxygen… sedentary folk are probably using a percentage of both, highy aerobic exercisers mostly the aerobic pathways…
Colonel Sanders kentucky fried Chicasaurus… in the south pacific I saw birds that looked closer to their dinosaur heritage… behavior and body shape… constant aerial combat between tribes, made a hideous squawk, nastiest fookers I ever saw… more like vicious lizards with wings…
I know in Vegas they pump the Casinos full of oxygen to keep people awake and gambling. If you feel tired and are about to crash in the hotel do not walk through the casino to get to your room.
I’ve been told by my doctor and a few friends who are personal trainers that too many deep breaths can cause you to black out, More than 3 in a short period of time.
So I guess that it’s the same with pure oxygen. although it has been said that it helps to relieve stress.
Never tried it before ^^
But there are a few clubs around the states and japan now that have those little oxygen dispensers and it’s said to give ayou a quick pick me up feeling
I have made a most fascinating discovery that relates to breathing oxygen and a specific nutrient supplement… when the two are combined there are dramatic positive effects…
I’m doing the 7 drops of Oxygen Elements Max twice a day; and even though I do feel something, at 298 pounds, I probably could do more, but since I’m not an expert, I’m sticking with 7 drops.
I’d love to know what that SPECIFIC NUTRIENT is/was!
