Agarscents Bazaar - some reviews of their products

A review of some of the products I acquired from Agarscents Bazaar:

First a note on their products in general:

When I first received the products, i thought they smelled not quite like dirty ass and/or urine, but pretty close (except for the Musk Gazelle, which we thought smelled like old people). They are very complex scents which need to be diluted through diffusion in order to properly experience them. Give them a few days before you pass judgment on them.

Their products are very different for typical cologne. They are thick, sticky, oily, last a very very long time on your skin and you use a very small amount. Do not treat them like typical cologne or you will smell like a body part of some kind (body part smell varies from product to product).

Additionally, the notes are very natural, earthy and animalistic. After finding these products, it is very likely I will never use spray parfums ever again. They are amazing products.

On each description is a quote from agarscentsbazaar.com which does a good job of describing the product.

THE WHITES:
Clean and light (relative to the other musks) . Good for daytime and work.

Musk Gazelle (Deer) 3 ml (no Agarwood)
Initial impressions: Smells greatly of Rose & reminded us of old people.
Current impressions: Mild & Sweet when compared to the other Agarscents musks. A deep mellow base note. I would say that this is the most femine of the group of musks I have. I was thinking of using this as a base for the the days I wanted to use something more floral & sweet. This is my least favorite of the ones I have, but i was also looking for a deep masculine musk.
Agarscents.com: “this comes from an African variety of deer and says it smells very different from other deer musks.”

DHEN AL AMBERGRIS “WHITE” 3 ML (No Agarwood/Aloeswood)
Inital Impressions: Reminded me of the guy Brawny Paper Towel guy.
Current Impressions: Amazing daytime & work scent. Very woodsy (pine trees) & clean. I have a feeling this will become a favorite.
Agarscents.com: “There are three grades of Ambergris; “White” being the best, “Gold” 2nd & “Black” 3rd, being the lowest quality”

100% PURE INDIAN WHITE DEER MISK 3ml - MISK IS MUSK (no Agarwood/Oud)
Inital Impressions: Brisk & clean, like a spring day. If you like the “ocean” or “clean” scented parfums, this would be good start for you.
Agarscents.com: “Pure White Musk is lightly sweet, slightly pungent, tenacious, potent & enduring…the aroma kindles thoughts of love, peace and joy, stimulates healthy conversation, attracts positive energy & healthy interaction.”

**THE REDS:**Warm & Spicy. For formal & special occasions.

100% PURE INDIAN RED MUSK 3ml (no Agarwood/Aloeswood/Oudh)
Inital Impressions: Deep, spicy and warm. This feels like something you would wear in the winter to keep you warm. Very strong and enduring.
Agarscents.com: “Red Musk is slightly spicy, potent and enduring…the aroma kindles thoughts of love, peace and joy, stimulates healthy conversation, attracts positive energy & healthy interaction.”

KASHMIRI MUSK 3 ml (no Agarwood/Oudh)
Initial Impressions: Clean & Soapy, but then it goes deeper and warms just a little.
Agarscents.com: “Pure and Animalic, this Kashmiri Musk is highly fragrant and enduring, noted for its Sweet and Spice like tones. It’s truly is a Gem of all Musks, Highly Pheremonous, sweet & musky, Provocative and Sensuous.”

The blacks:
Dominant and aggressive. For when you need to mark your territory, but she is not into golden showers.

BLACK MUSK KASTHURI 3 ml (no Agarwood/Oudh)
Initial Impressions: Warmer and darker which lingers. The blacks are very dominant and agressive.
Agarscents says: “Slightly animalic, rich, thick, spicy and lightly sweet w/ natural notes of licorice and vanilla.”

AGAR MUSK (DEER) BLACK 3 ml (w/Agarwood/Oudh)
Initial Impressions: Not as warm, dark and dominant as the other blacks. Has a soapiness to it. The agarwood mellows this one out.
Agarscents.com: “rich, very thick, and lightly sweet w/ notes of licorice and vanila. Words are at a loss to describe this wonderful Oil. When blended with pure Agarwood oil, the woodsy scent of Oudh adds depth and strength to the Musk, underscoring its character and boldness.”

**PURE DHEN MUSK BLACK 1ml (no Agarwood/Gaharu/Oud)
**Initial Impressions: Very animalistic, with bold spice and lingering warmth. This one is very striking, dominat and agressive.
I suggest getting one of these before they go, so you can have this agressive one in your mix.
agarscents sent me in an e-mail: “Dhen Musk Black will soon be discontinued and Black Musk Kasthuri will be the closest to this one - we believe it is nicer, more defined and smooth.”

I will post more detailed information about each one as I use it more.

I have checked out the website it looks like a lot of pure natural ingredients have gone into their products. A few years ago I got a small phial of musk oil that came from a musk pod which is very expensive. The sellers had formulated it so you could wear it and a small smidge of the oil on your little finger and rubbed into your forehead was enough to stink to high heaven. Lol

I will be interested to read what your take on the scents are when you start wearing them. Be careful though with the oils as they can be extremely pungent especially if the ingredients are pure.

I wore the Indian White today. Nice, simple little musk smell to it. About 12 hours after application, the lingering note did not smell very good. Had an off musk urine smell. Not good. I probably should mix another lingering base note with it to cover it. I’ve haven’t had that problem before with the other musks I’ve worn. I’ll try the ambergris white today and see if it does the same thing.

Thanks for the reviews! Ah well, there goes another paycheck.

An interesting note: Ambergris is a solid, waxy, flammable substance of a dull gray or blackish color produced in the digestive system of sperm whales.

I am intrigued by these natural musks and curious how people are using them in conjunction with pheromone products.

Bump!
So very excited to see this post! These are great products! They are still in business today and I would totally recommend for the adventurer looking for unique and lasting fragrance!

I have the Ambergris Oud Natural Perfume, Agar Musk Cambodi Natural Musk Perfume, Connemara Coast Black Ambergris & their Egyptian Musk Golden Anbar.

They are VERY aromatic and a little goes a looooong way. I will use sweet almond oil to cut sometimes, but really, if you use just the smallest amount it permeates and is divine…but too much and you will drive reactions that will not be entirely pleasant, lol. But GREAT products!
