Amouage Reflection For Men

Top Notes: Red pepper Berries, Rosemary, Bitter Orange leaves

Middle Notes: Orris, Jasmine, Neroli

Base Notes: Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Vetiver

I have managed to get a sample set of the whole of the mens range for Amouage and this is my take on the Reflection cologne.

This smells like a lighter version of Joop that is a little bit soapy and spicier and not as synthetic as Joop can be. What made me laugh with this cologne is the drydown. It smells like you have had a great time at a French Boudior, it is very powdery. To much that I think I would be embarrassed smelling like baby powder. Lol

Its a nice cologne but to generic why pay a fortune when you can just pick up Joop cheap. Without feeling you have been to a French house of ill repute.

Well done, as usual, Tommy.

To me there is quite a difference between the two. The drydown and sillage are well beyond Joop, which is standard for Amouage, IMHO. The difference is for the person wearing it, I supposed, rather that those around them. Were that not the case, I’d say Joop would be a reasonable approximation.

Let me know what you think of Lyric and Arcus. Mind if I ask how much the set was?

Hi Vaccine

I got a nice sample set from Selfridges in a black presentation box with Jubilation, Dia, Silver, Reflection, Lyric and gold. Did not get Arcus with this set but it cost £23 which is about $35 US.

Reflection was certainly nice but the drydown was a bit to powdery for me though it was very sweet. I took a quick sniff of Gold and I think that is going to be powdery on steroids. Lol

That’s a good price. Arcus is odd, as it seems to be off the radar. I grabbed a 1ml sample for $6USD.

Amouage Gold will be perfect for smelling nice when you are a pensioner.

Seriously, it is a quality fragrance, but I can’t see myself wearing it. Let me know how you like it.

I have smelled Gold and its smells like womens hand cream and baby powder. Lol

Silver is restrained by Amouage standards and has this amber rubber note I do not care for.

Dia has no imo longevity or sillage and stays very close to the skin. And the scent is so faint on my skin I cannot gage the fragrance, and this is the second sample I have tried of Dia.

The winners for me from Amouage are Jubilation and Lyric man and I think that I would only be comfortable wearing jubilation even though Lyric smells great.

Imo Amouage seem to be a mixed bag, they use good ingredients but a lot of their scents seem sloppy in there blending. Though when they get it right the fragrance’s are great.
