I know this has likely been covered before but does anyone know of any cologne that smells anything like Akuto? I keep getting complements on it but I’m tired of telling people it is a custom scent and leaving it at that. Last time I wore something Akuto scented I got two more complements on it.
One woman was really hilarious. ‘What cologne are you wearing? It smells good. I noticed it outside but didn’t know for sure who was wearing it. I mean, I know it is you now. It smells really good.’
I have only smelled it once and to be honest the only thing I remember it made me sick to my stomach, i never smelled anything like it and I have smelled a lot of perfumes and nothing reminded me of that
Sorry but cannot help, have no clue what it is remotely like if anything
One of the colonges from Burberry smells a little like it. A co worker of mine wears it and I SWORE he had to be wearing some 314…seems I know the scent too well.
This is not to try to influence you to say Akuto. Rather, if you could give a “brain dump” of what happened in your unconscious mind when I said “What’s wrong with saying Akuto?”, I’d appreciate it. Any fears, worries, scenes you run in your head, other words you don’t want people to see if they look this stuff up, etc.
To me, the most miraculous use of these molecules is to improve daily life. To reduce loneliness, bring people closer together, increase interpersonal playfulness and add adventure back to life.
Surely we do our best not to be yet another fraud or sex company (or in what I like to refer to as “the dildo market”, ha). I’ve worked very hard for years to inspect the actuality reality of these molecules (reality being as plain vanilla and practical as you can get), and then to figure out how the reality of these molecules can best aid humanity on both a macro and individual level. It’s a very practical, non-sex fiend approach.
If there’s a “dirty”, “inappropriate” or “embarassing” aspect to any of this, I need to know what it is, even if it’s just boils down to what pheromones tend to be sold as in the media (Oceans 13, etc)
Full honesty, even things you think might not count. Be brutal!
Sounds like that might’ve happened when we were using the organic alcohol stock, instead of perfumer stock. That made everything smell a little bit sickening, because the process the organic alcohol house was using left quite a few sweet smelling cogeners.
We now use industry standard perfumers alcohol again (and have for quite awhile now, actually). You can try it again on our dime, if you like.
PS – I’m in no way against sex myself. Love the stuff!
What I am against is valuable, broad based technology behind lumped together with “just the next dildo”. (and this is not fault of yours, I think it’s mostly the media, and the way the criminal types market pheromones)
Obviously, the bulk of phero tech is social, not sexual. Often, it goes beyond even social applications, sort of into the core of our being as TAF does. Yet these areas are not directly sexual, either, and really shouldn’t be anymore embarrassing than anything else that’s “normal”.
Much of the tech is not anymore sexual than driving a nice car or wearing good clothes, anyway. There’s an attractive aspect to almost everything, sure, but it’s not always a very direct path to actual sexuality, if you know what I mean. Everything we do attracts and repels certain types of people.
This is not the exclusive realm of pheromones, many of which are merely powerful messengers, or at most most, chemical facilitators of shared experience.
I can now go to any new city on earth, and make good friends in a day thanks to the tech in something like Instant Honesty. I can turn up a party by wearing Instant Honesty. I even recently learned that intelligence agents use the tech in honesty to dissolve terrorist cells. Men’s work lives are changed completely by A314. Relationships are repaired and mended, even with children.
Bottom line is, we need to find someway of separating the actual technology from the occasional … well, what could we call it? “Hot sex” type applications? Heh
I just thought of something funny to illustrate attraction.
I asked myself, what’s one of the most attractive features of a woman to me?
The answer, interesting enough, is:
Productivity!
Gosh, how I love a woman who can do things. Productive, often objectivist leaning or scientifically minded women get me whirring as no other kind does. The MIT pin-up calendar… phew! Too hot to talk about.
All jokes aside, this is simply a normal human trait that could not be considered sexual by most people. Take, for example, that you could NEVER ban productivity in an office, or anywhere else for that matter! Heh.
It is merely in my criteria for who is attractive to me and who is not.
Many of of the “marrying type” of men have this criteria, too. Most want a partner in life, not just a woman they use for sex 15 minutes a day, while she sits idle the rest of the time.
A314 basically projects this image for men. Stable, good men.
Productivity is not on the shelves of the local sex shop, even though it – in some way (often in different words than I use) – is definitely in the list of attractive features of many people.
It is attractive, and can lead to coitus or even long term “romantic union”, despite the fact that productivity itself is completely normal, as normal as anything else could ever be. It’s the same sort of core thing you’d want in an office printer, I suppose. It’s that normal.
So why then should A314 sit exclusively next to the dildos or harnesses at a sex shop?
Why can’t you use it, and if someone found out you used it, why couldn’t be viewed as a person into self-improvement, a good person who wants to be even better?
There’s nothing wrong, dirty or sinister about self-improvement. It is the opposite of rude. (gosh, didn’t Richard Branson have to say almost exactly that while initially defending the brand name “Virgin” to the British government?)
Could it be the word “pheromone” itself and it’s classical associations, created by both marketing and movies since the early 80s?
You know, could it be the heat there which accelerates diffusion too much?
We now know that humans natural social pheromones are a key to normal human associations. We can even catalyze those with social mones, and have something like a great big, non-sexual “love in”. Reminiscent of the 60s minus the sex part. (well, unless you add the sex stuff in, that is )
These molecules do seem to be a true key to the quality our intrapersonal relationships. To the quality of our understanding of each other, even to the basic humanity we extend to other members of our species.
Could the MidEast, due to it’s climate and that climate’s problems with scent transmission, be lacking something primordial that the rest of the civilized world has?
Now, in certain very hot areas of even the US, I see major differences in scent transmission.
Take a place where the flowers still bloom, and are even renowned… say Zilker Park’s Rose Garden in Austin… Despite its fame, I’ve noticed the roses do not bloom as well as they do in some colder or more moderate climate areas.
There’s no lack of bees, but the bees don’t seem to find them as well under other weather conditions. Nor can I smell the roses as well as I can in other rose parks.
So once again, could we have something in the Middle East that’s even more against the transmission of human scent?
If you use perfumes from the Middle East, you’ll notice that they’re very, VERY strong. Unusually strong. Perhaps that is a clue that, indeed, that normal human scent does not transmit as well in the Middle East type climate.
Perhaps we could change the Mid East dramatically with the proper molecules combined with an extra-powerful diffusion system, remiscent of their own localized parfums.
PS – Think of it this way. You know how you need a BIG air conditioner with tons of BTUs to cool an entire house? You can’t just take a 5500 BTU window air conditioner and expect to cool a huge area? Well, same thing with humans. Perhaps we have just go many “Pheromone Producing Units”. Maybe some of us can do produce them perhaps 80% more than others or what have you… but perhaps that’s just not enough for certain climates.
Just like you need abnormally sized air conditioners the size of a house to cool a good sized area in the Middle East, perhaps you do mega-doses of pheromones over there to have the sort of pheromone reception we experience in more moderate climate areas? Maybe the mid-east needs super levels of pheromones, a relatively enormous concentration, to activate enough receptors in individual’s olfactory systems?
I hear what you’re saying MHarris. I’d be totally bummed to see A314 in a sex shop after knowing it’s way more than just a “pheromone” you’d see at a cheap sex shop. I think it’ll depress me a bit, especially after knowing just how amazing it has made people feel. Some even change.
Yes..its marketed in a way that ppl associate it with sex..no way to get around it, until you change peoples perception of it. Kind of like Hip Hop. People who are outside of the genre, view it as misogynistic, gun laden, and “blingy”. Blame MTV, BET, radio, etc for this. All of the archatypal images you see/hear is like 15%(at the most) of what it’s really about. Same thing w/ pheromones. The way I found out AD/Smartmones is through a click add on TPB(torrent). Was going through a very hard time last yr and wanted a channge, somehow, someway.
Did some googling, and came across ya’lls stuff.. It helped save my life, literally. I say helped because it wasn’t the end all/be all for me, but it was part of that extra edge I needed to get back on track.
I have designed the next stage of Androtics, and it mostly involves the non-sexual application of this tech. (which is not a bad thing for those who want sex tech, either, considering that it was the evolution of our general tech that led to the advances in MX292 and the newer Raw Power packs, which are hailed by some as sex on a stick – i.e., by being circumspect and thorough, we made advances in sex tech no sexually focused company did)
The way I wanted things is that most of our own prodcuts would not be directly sexual. Rather, sexual things would be in in a follow up catalog, sort of like how Trader Joe’s has the “The Friendly Flyer” or how DAK had their invention catalog in the 80s.
We wanted most of the “sex tech” to mostly come from you guys (since many of you are much more sex-minded tham me!). You’d use our molecules sort of like an API to write “applications”. We’d offer a book author like royalty on mixes offered in our catalog. Sort of like the Apple App store, but with commissions more in line for a physical based product with rather high costs to manufacture and ship (I think the book publishing model is a pretty good fit for a mix; it’s more generous than many models of selling physical products, and shouldn’t increase the retail price to the point where it wouldn’t sell).
I am basing a lot of this off of ideas I had for Futurist’s MX101. He said we could do whatever we wanted with it, since he was too busy in his professional career to really do the business end of things at the time. He was so gracious, I wanted to bring back on board, but only a royalty basis. (and we need the right software and business structures to track that kind of thing accurately)
I go out of my way to be kind to others, and I really like what he did, by showing both graciousness to us and the community here. Thus, I’m going to reward him in a way most traditional businesses would not by not offering his mix again until a royalty tracking and payment system is in place.
The problem is, I’m now thinking that if we mention sexuality much at all, either in front end or back end products, we might topple everything over and be lumped back into the “dildo” store again.
If we even have hints of sex in the back catalog, our efforts to elevate the social milieau might all end up being for naught, since the concepts of sexiness or, uh oh, sex itself, + pheromones, clearly must = Dildo 2.0, and not what we actually are.
Maybe we somehow need to keep anything sexy in another project entirely.
It just gets so complex working all this out. We have rather limited resources. Even Microsoft doesn’t have multiple catalogs to handle different subjects, despite being huge. People use Frontpage and Adobe Photoshop for everything from their granny’s homepage to porn pages. Software tends to be a very general tool you can do anything with.
Pheromones, in reality (but not in most people’s heads), are the exact same.
I wish folks understood we had fairly general tools, and you could apply them to anything, like that, just like you do with MS Office or Photoshop. They’re just tools, often very useful tools. They have different applications, many of which have little to do directly with with dildos or the BDSM harnesses some people want to bundle A314 with. Gosh.
Great idea MHarris, I’d love to see Futurist’s MX and finally try it!
I actually agree on the sex pheromones, they’re awesome but I’d also love to see more social, spacey, and just crazy feeling MX’s or products that just go good with use at a party or huge gathering.
There may be gangster rap, sure, but what about the soul behind Arrested Development, or the sheer FUN of Run DMC? (sorry that my references are a little out of date! feel free to update me!)
There’s ads on torrents?! Whoa.
See, this makes my heart swoon. Of course, pheromones aren’t the be all, end all of everything. Reality is a big place. That’s why we’ve traditionally enouraged people to seek help outside of pheromones on this forum. To get a good psychologist if necessary, or to study social skills, etc.
Nonetheless, this is exactly the type of change I want to see in the world. Exactly what I want to offer people.
This, in fact, is the primary reason I keep along with this project. Originally, I was interested in the reality of pheromones, good or bad. I knew I wasn’t getting the truth from the marketers, and all the scientists were too sex oriented for my tastes for me to actually believe them.
A few years ago, I fulfilled the original mission of Androtics. I found enough reality to make me more than happy. My little project generated more reality-based data than anyone else had in the 20 something years these have been studied. More than enough to more than fulfill my curiosity.
The thing that kept me in “the game”, is saying to myself “OK, we have some reality on it… now how can I use this to help people? How can I help save some peoples lives. How can I take this and make the bad good, and good even better? How can I make people’s lives sparkle?”
That modus operandi is basically behind every long term project I’ve ever been involved with. Everything else I’ve ever done is a mere curiosity. You can make money doing anything, anything, but it’s truly elevating people, especially on a mass level, that really gets me and keeps me going.
I had a talk with John LaValle not too long ago, the caretaker of Richard Bandler’s version of NLP. He said if you really want to make money with as little struggle as possible, then run a hot dog stand and find a starving audience. He’s right. Those little stands are amazing cash generators when positioned properly. (and he claims that’s exactly what he plans to do should Bandler pass away)
There’s nothing wrong with hot dogs (you’re helping hungry people eat!), but it is the chance to elevate the whole world that keeps a lot of people doing what they’re doing in R&D driven businesses. People like me get excited by the new and interesting (my favorite catalogs were JS&A, DAK, Fisher Scientific, and now the Friendly Flyer; my favorite magazines were Omni, Brain/Mind Journal, Scientific American, and Science News).
I’m not saying we’re all like this when we’re in college, when we’re interested in playing guitar and swooning over whomever we want to swoon over, but things change. At a certain time in our lives, we want to give back. What we once enjoyed as students and consumers, we eventually get the urge to become part of creating and sharing what we once enjoyed. For me, that’s creating and sharing life improving innovations with others.
Sure I am willing to try it out again and give it another fair shake
Tell me how I can get it for free to smell it,
it is one reason why for the longest time i have not ordered A314 once i found out it went to akuto, my last batch of A314 was using a different type of essentail oil i forgot what but you barely smelled it, though I ordered it over a year ago.
Yes, that’s quite an old mix, indeed. It could’ve been during our “try to make everything as organic and natural as possible” phase, which didn’t quite turn out as well as had hoped. There’s simply no suppliers that make organic alcohol that’s as odor neutral as conventional perfumers alcohol.
Certain pheromones have their own smell, and some even change the perception of other odors, as well. It’s possible there’s something in MX113 that smell bad to you, or alters your perception of the Akuto scent.
I suggest you try plain Akuto @ 15% strength. Amy will have to make it for you. It’ll be about a week until she returns. After that time, you can simply arrange it with Mick or Steve. I’ll authorize it.
Sorry to have thread hijacked here. I seem to be doing that a lot lately to quite a few people. My apologizes. (that’s why why I started the new “Messages from Michael”, to try to “contain myself” )
I am still interested, however, in how we can make life enhancing product a good thing, something to be proud of, instead of embarrassing.
