what do you mean what is going on? people die all the time, especially older people who have had health problems like ed mcmahon and farrah fawcett. and as far as the lord gathering souls…really? i don’t know if hollywood is the best place to find spiritual warriors. especially when you’re lumping in a snake oil salesman like billy mays and whatever you want to classify michael jackson as.
I visit Hollywood twice a month and have met some stars which one (ex big star) is my cousin. There are some spiritual jewish and christian warriors in Hollywood they just keep a low profile so their careers don’t get weakened (like what happened to Carrie Prejean).
Being spiritual does not necessarily mean one is Christian.

i know they have and wasn’t meaning any disrespect with my original post, either…i was just stating that death is a natural thing, happening all the time, and was trying to inject some humor by stating that if someone thinks god is gathering souls that the advertising/entertainment industry might not be the best place, that’s all.

nature ebbs and flows, and there is nothing new under the sun.
we are in a period similar to that of 1933 or 1970 when one tends to see many prominent deaths as well as extreme low stock prices, strikes, unemployment, repression, despair and the beginning of new business generation for 18.6 years with younger men becoming prominent.
Thomas Kuhn said that science only progresses when the old guys die off (ie people don’t tend to change their minds about basic questions they have based their careers on), so perhaps these waves of people passing on serve some bigger purpose.
