Eddie Grant:

Electric Avenue big hit around 1983-84. Gimme Hope Joanna was an anti-apartheid song also in the 80s at the height of the state of emergency in South Africa. Romancing the Stone was on the soundtrack to the 80s movie Jewel of the Nile with Michael Douglas. And then he had “Don’t Wonna Dance”.

Found out from doing these polls that “Electric Avenue” is actually the name of a notorious dealers street in London.

So what is your no.1 Billy Ocean song? “Get Outta My Dreams; Get Into my Car”; “When the going get’s tough”; “Loverboy” or “Caribbean Queen”?
