Anniversary report, concluded.
Venues:
Teppanyaki steakhouse
Outdoor mall
“Adult” area of a posh movie theatre (Green Lantern in 3D-awesome if you like that stuff, and we do)
Well, where I was concerned, the mones went great. I felt happy, flirtatious, sexy.
At the steakhouse, I promptly made friends with the family sitting next to us, and we chatted off and on through the meal.
As we walked through the outdoor mall past the band playing a concert in front of the movie theatre, I was half-walking, half-dancing - and we were across the way from where most of the “audience” was, so I could plainly be seen dancing my way through the mall. And didn’t care.
At the theatre, before we even went in, a gentleman stopped us and said, “You going to see Green Lantern?”
“Yes…”
“Great! Great movie! Make sure you sit through the credits! There’s stuff to see that most people missed 'cause they walked out!”
Inside the actual theatre, a couple sat down next to us and opened a big container of popcorn, and I told my husband, “Uh-oh, this is a problem.”
“What?”
“I can smell his,” jerking my head toward the gentleman on my other side, “popcorn.”
“Oh.”
The gentleman promptly OFFERED ME SOME! I politely declined, explaining that I was on a low-carb diet and THAT was the problem.
As far as hubby was concerned: The meal was “okay,” the movie was “okay,” everything was “okay.” And sparks did not fly. Not like I was hoping, anyway. Like the difference between a bottle rocket and a fireworks mortar.

Don’t get me wrong, we had a nice anniversary. I was just hoping for more pizzazz than usual. I guess I got a little more than lately, but not what I’d hoped.
He has a reduced sense of smell, and it seems to be diminishing as he gets older. Are the mone receptors the same as the olfactory receptors? Or are they slightly different? If the same, then the mones and cops will do nothing for him…
Then again I could have been just nervous and anxious about it (it’s the first time I’ve worn cops around him) and maybe I subconsiously telegraphed something that was off-putting, or off-throwing.
I don’t know. sigh
