Boudoir by Vivian Westwood

Anyone knows what other perfume it smells like? I just ordered a bottle, and when it got here, it smelled awefully familiar like something I’ve owned a long time ago..

Whoever puts their finger on it gets a gold star

Ok.

Same thing here.

And!

My neighbor lady (She’s 51) walked by with the signature Boudoir sillage. (I can’t mistake that sillage for anything…) Of course, I explode with joy and burst out, “Omg, are you wearing Vivienne Westwood’s Boudoir???”

She’s a little hard of hearing, and she brightened up and said, “Yes! It is Lancome! I’m so glad someone can smell my fragrance! I’ve been wearing it for years and nobody notices”

… Lancome?

Boudoir doesn’t remind me of anything else, personally. I love the viburnum and marigold notes in it.

But if a Lancome fragrance smelled like Boudoir on someone else, I wonder if it could be Tresor? Both are heady florals with a rich vanillic amber base. Tresor is more fruity (big PEACH) and even a little syrupy to me, while Boudoir has some green and spicy aspects (I much prefer Boudoir). The only other Lancome fragrance I can think of that approaches Boudoir is Magie Noir - the original version (incredibly sexy!!), not the reformulated EDT which smells cheap.

Boudoir:
**Year Introduced: **1998
**Scent Type: **Oriental - Green
**Top Notes: **Viburnum, marigold, orange blossom, orris
**Heart Notes: **Red rose, cinnamon, coriander, cardamom
**Base Notes: **Amber, vanilla, sandalwood, patchouli

Tresor:
**Year Introduced: **1991
**Scent Type: **Floral Semi - Oriental
**Top Notes: **Rose, apricot blossom, lilac, peach
**Heart Notes: **Iris, heliotrope, lily of the valley, jasmine
**Base Notes: **Amber, sandalwood, musk, vanilla

Magie Noir:
**Year Introduced: **1981
**Scent Type: **Oriental - Ambery Spicy
**Top Notes: **Hyacinth, cassie, bergamot, raspberry, galbanum
**Heart Notes: **Jasmine, ylang-ylang, Bulgarian rose, lily of the valley, narcissus, honey, tubersoe, orris
**Base Notes: **Spices, sandalwood, ambergris, cedarwood, patchouli, oakmoss, musk, civet

Ok, Tresor maybe, but like Carrie said, it’s too sweet

I think it’s actually more like Poeme, which is another fragrance by Lancome. Not like Magie Noir at all, which I also own. This has been my all-time favorite, and while I agree that the new EDT is not the same, I still think it’s pretty great, espessially compared to so many new perfumes that seem to lack the complexity and mystique of the older french fragrances.

Anyway, I think Boudoir reminds me of something far more simple, something like a Vanderbilt with the swan (also not the reformulated, but the yesteryear kind). I just distinctly remember smelling a very similar scent in the late 80s/early 90s..

I used Boudoir as a cover scent for EoW and I find it too strong, very over whelming!! I still had it on from the night before when I went to the hairdresser and she said to me that she could smell my perfume and found it very over powering! I also came out with a rash on my neck afetr using the 2 together!!! My son told me that it smells more like something his grandma wears and doesn´t suit me!!!

Boudoir is very strong, and it seems to get even stronger after I apply it. I only wear about 2 drops - I’d never spray it. It’s intense, but I find it really beautiful and sexy, at a low dose!

about the rash on your neck, sophie - the skin on the neck is very sensitive and some people can’t tolerate fragrance there. Try dabbing in your cleavage instead. Also, if your skin reacts to fragrance (and to EW, which is highly acidic!) wait for a little while (30 minutes at least) after showering before applying. If you apply right after a shower, your skin is stripped of its protective natural oils and reactions are therefore more likely.

Boudoir is my favourite scent and I absolutely love the way it smells, but it doesn’t remind me of anything else at all.

It’s the perfume that has got the most compliments for me as well, ranging from male friends getting horned up, to female friends shoving their face in my cleavage, to a train ticket collector chasing me past the gate to ask what I was wearing, to overhearing teenage girls talk about how nice it smelled. It seems to appeal to both genders and all ages

when ever a perfume is too strong I usually spray it in the air and walk through it, that way it doesnt all concentrate in one spot and it diffuses a bit before setting on u…just a suggestion

but after hearing about this perfume so much i want to smell it now, where can i find it?

I don’t really think that it’s that strong at all, at least to me or on me, and I am sensitive to strong perfumes.

I like the way it smells but I’ve yet to get one single compliment on it.. I wonder what’s up. I usually get a ton of compliments on Magie Noir, but not once in the past week on this.

Scorpio, you can get this online by googling. I found mine on Ebay. It’s not available in stores, sadly.

Scorpio, I put up a post not long ago where you can buy Boudoir online.

www.Fragrancedirect.co.uk

Its at a very reasonable price and you can get it as a tester, unboxed, or buy it also at a good price with the lid and in its box!

I haven´t put on EoW or Boudoir for over a week now, the skin on my neck pulses is still too dry and sensitive. My fault really because I am very sensitive to most perfumes and I overdosed on both!! I just hope that the pheromones I have just ordered TAL, MX135 and LAM don´t affect me the same way!!
