I usually type my reports and such in a word processor before copying and pasting the reports into the text boxes the forums have setup. What I’ve noticed is that when I paste and submit the posts all of the quotation marks that I wrote in normally get changed to question marks. If you look at my journal right now my most recent entry showcases this bug. Anyone have any idea why this happens?
I was just wondering because it’s rather annoying having to go back every time and change ever single question mark back to a quotation mark.
Maybe pre type them with question marks so they’ll turn to quotations?
Haha I don’t know really it doesn’t happen to me. Maybe it’s the source you copy them from. Have you tried doing it from somewhere else?
I haven’t any sources other than google docs. I’ll see what else I can do, it’s just the best place for me to save the files because I’m always jumping from computer to computer.
I don’t know if the question marks change to quotation marks, I haven’t experimented with that, I’ve only seen the quotation marks becoming question marks.
Try typing in your quotation with two successives apostrophees without a space ‘’ = ’ + ’ instead of using the ‘’ key (shift + “2”).
I have taken this habit and it works fine. Of course, it’s a pain and takes some getting used to, but it works. I am using this until the bug gets fixed someday.
Ah, okay, I’ll try that. It’ll eventually become a habit, but you’re right it is a bit of a pain. At least I know I’m not the only one who’s experienced this bug. I only mentioned it because I noticed one of Gmoney’s journal posts had all the quotations replaced with a question mark.
