Could Instant Shine help with depression? Replies say mones are not medication

Random thought:
After spraying a bit of shine below my nostrils and being giddy for about 10 minutes - you know, incessant smiling, breaking out into dance, it was super weird haha - do you guys think that Instant Shine could be used to help depression?

Pheromones affect neurotransmitters just like some anti-depression pills do (Xanax?), so I’d imagine that a product like Instant Shine could help people during rough times…thoughts?

First of, Xanax is a Benzodiazapine, it’s more for anxiety, and can actually cause depression.

If you’re really suffering from depression, you should use methods, therapies, drugs, that are meant to treat depression. Pheromones can give you that temporary high, but typically, acute depression (break up, loss of a loved one, loss of a job) typically goes away. Pheromones would be able to help to get you to go out and socialize more.

However if you’re depressed (clinical). Then you should get advice from a medical professional or a psychologist to help determine your needs.

Signs of Clinical Depression: Symptoms to Watch For

I’m not saying that you may or may not be. Just for anyone else that would read this post.

Just like my fellow airplane, err I mean pheromone enthusiast says , mones are not medication. I use Ishine to keep me happy and as a way to repress any feelings that might get me low. If you are on medication you should seek advice from a medical professional. Pheromones are to help give you a boost to social interactions, they cannot take the place of any medication.

Ishine makes me smile and probably you too and yes whenever I spray Ishine I break out into a HAPPY dance too. The point being is to have fun and don’t think to much into it.

Ahem.

Pheromone Experienced!

Mones evolved as a form of communication between organisms and signal health, sex, aggression, etc. In other words they were designed to work in a social context, and work best with 2 or more parties present. Your brain figures out pretty quickly sniffing a bottle or spraying it up your nose is a false alarm and stands down. So, yep, the self-medication effects of mones tend to fade with regular use. I can’t feel a damn thing, even if I spray it up my friggen nose or okole deluxe.

^ all the above, especially since self effects fade after a while
I did see someone who posted on here saying IS had cured their depression but eventaully the self effects will fade and then you’re blown.
Though I would note pheromones are used medically on dogs

IIRC the portion of a dog’s brain devoted to smell is larger than a human’s, proportionally. They pay a lot of attention to smells.

Speaking as someone who has suffered from clinical depression and still does to some extent… I don’t think Instant Shine is a cure for depression. I don’t even think it’s an effective treatment. If you suffer from depression, you need appropriate help, proper nutrition, and good sleep. Not drugs that push the bad feelings away. You need to learn to manage your emotional state, not ignore your emotions or cover them up.

Completely 100% correct. Using Pheromones as a crutch could eventually lead to a downfall you don’t want to be in.

Fantastic insight.
