I’ve been very depressed for the latter half of today for various reasons. As I was sitting here I thought, “Wonder if a blast of Instant Shine to the schnoz would change my mood?” So I took off my glasses and blasted Instant Shine on my face. Once.
It does seem to have taken the worst of it away, after about ten minutes, but it’s not all gone. Perhaps this could become a targeted therapy of some sort?
Been awhile since I was in school majoring in psychology , but if it’s the sam today as it was then, it’s not really depression if you have reasons.
Definitely, but wording is important.
From what I understand, you can only market things as a therapy, if they’re NOT a therapy (like all of the cosmetics that use the word therapy, but don’t actually work well), otherwise you’re falling straight into FDA regulation.
I just like the terms “feel good” or “feel better”. The FDA can’t touch things which improve upon (enhance), but only those things which address a negative. (that’s why nootropic drugs are legal in the US – according to the FDA, enhancements don’t even exist, therefore you can buy all you want cheaply, and even in bulk, without a prescription)
So I think we can say it makes you feel better, but we can’t say it eases depression. We’d have to imply it.
I don’t know whether or not this would affect your products, too? I suppose you could claim your products are just “information”, and are protected by the first amendement. Commecial speech, however, is supposedly not protected.
Law is a big bummer, huh? You almost need Instant Shine just to deal with it.
Well I definitely have reasons for being depressed. I suppose in that sense, it’s not chronic. IShine did make me feel better… but it didn’t do quite what I was hoping for. Better is better than nothing though… it’s not going to magically make my ex open her eyes, of course, but still.
I’ve sprayed IShine when I’m feeling down and it makes me feel better. Its not a complete cure, but it lifts my mood when im in a bad mood. This would be a good time to mention an oil based version of IShine like MHarris mentioned about coming out with would work even better for lifting your mood through out the day.
I did an interesting experiment today. School is an hour and a half drive each direction, so I dread the time to think. My car radio needs to be re-set every time you turn the car on, electrical problems, and I like a channel that does not come in well. I gave up listening to the radio. No CD player, so I drive in silence. Usually I use this time to contemplate my next business strategy, but since the end of my LTR it has on occasion provided me with way too much time to think about things.
Today I modified my usual mix by adding one spray of IShine and subtracting a spray of The Edge. Got in the car… drove… and it wasn’t as bad as I expected. But it still wasn’t good by a long shot.
Now while I was sitting in class, it crossed my mind that there are certain things about me that seem to turn off completely if I am too upset, too tired or too depressed. Maybe, I reasoned,if they turn off because of depression, I can reverse that and by forcefully invoking one of them, I can turn the depression off.
Long story short, it worked. I have a special mood music CD that puts me in one of these moods, and I played it subliminally for myself while waitting for my second class. And sure enough, within three hours, the depression was replaced by the intended mood. I have been doing fine ever since too.
Now there is an idea! Along with the Oust room fans, how about some little car deoderizer hang-off-the-rearview-mirror thingies with stuff like IShine in them! Or other concotions when you are planning that trip to Lover’s Lane or the drive-in movie…
(But there would be that bit about DUI that might come up… Sorry judge but I couldn’t steer because he/she was climbing all over me…)
