I notice that a lot of ladies on this forum recommend the Chocolatini “flavor” for the Androtics pheromones, and that a lot of ladies also use a “cover scent” when they’re wearing pheromones. I am not sure, however, if people do both. I’m thinking about making another order pretty soon, but I’m confused about the interactions between these two.
Do those of you who use the chocolatini scents find that you still need a cover-scent, or do you think that the chocolatini by itself is adequate to cover up any incidental 'mone-stink?
I’ve been looking a little, but I’ve had a hard enough time trying to figure out what to do use as a cover for the neroli-scented items, and the neroli seems like a pretty basic perfuming component, so I’m wondering whether this becomes a lot harder once you’re dealing with the more complex and foody notes of chocolatini.
The neroli scent package is very light neroli + musk, not very lasting, not as strong as a perfume, and easy to wear your own perfume with if you desire. I have dozens of products in neroli scent and have never felt the need to cover any of them with another perfume, although I have worn other perfumes with them.
Chocolatini scent is as strong as a perfume and may clash with other perfumes that are not also built around the same type of scent - chocolate, amaretto and vanilla are its most prominent notes.
I also often wear the neroli by itself. Some ladies don’t care for it, however…to each his (or her) own, I guess. To me, it is a very light and fresh smell…
It’s not that I don’t like the neroli, exactly, it’s just that I feel like I can still smell the pheromoney smell that is, to me, particularly strong in Instant Shine (smells a little like fake tan)- and probably also in other formulae that I don’t have yet.
Lor pointed out in another thread that pheromones do smell, so I’m just wondering what the best way is to go about turning that smell into (or covering that smell with) something that I wouldn’t mind smelling like all the time.
I’m also interested in what ladies might use as an additional scent (amending myself from calling it a “cover scent”) that isn’t Pink Sugar.
I have hundreds of scents of all kinds, and would probably wear any one of them with the neroli. Truly, I think you can wear it with anything you like, from the lightest barely-there scent like Amazing Grace or CKOne to the darkest Lutens. Any kind of floral or citrus or clean/oceanic would blend fine, and any chypre, oriental, woody, musk or gourmand would cover it easily.
I also wouldn’t worry much about pheromone odors - in the women’s products, at least. Although they’re made in a lab, these are molecules normally found on human skin … they’re human odors. As you wear them more often, you’ll get used to them and some of them you’ll even grow to like.
Question, ladies - what are your opinions on the scents? Grapefruit, Coconut, Chocolate Cookie Dessert, Chocolatini, Neroli…
I thought the coconut (in MX136) was very, very strong. This may equal great diffusion but dear god, it bordered on offensive for the first few minutes. I have no idea what the others might smell like.
Would chocolatini or chocolate cookie dessert, which sound like they might smell pretty sweet, offend people who don’t like to eat sweet things? Guess there’s only one way to find out.
I don’t find the coconut stronger than the neroli, and it dies down quickly like neroli. It’s pleasant. The grapefruit similarly seems big at first but fades quite a bit in the first few minutes. To my nose, it’s not a true grapefruit or at least when mixed with TAA and a-nol, it smells more like a blend of grapefruit and tonka bean. After drydown these 3 project up to about 3 feet, I find.
Cookie and chocolatini last very well - chocolatini might last until you washed it off … j/k … almost. They project a bit better than the others, maybe 4-6 feet. Those 2 are quite sweet but I’d say not as sweet as Pink Sugar. I don’t know if they’d offend anyone; probably a few, just because people (Americans, anyway) are so easy to offend these days!
My first experience with the chocolate cookie package in MX214 (holiday test pack; i believe these are Instant Shine varients?) was not so good; I thought it encouraged/amplified BO. Granted, the first time I wore it I was mixing it with musk. When worn alone, I have started to like the chocolate cookie package, but it does veer to “too sweet” for my tastes. Likewise, chololatini and coconut are also sweet and “synthetic” in approach. But the chocolate cookie and chocolatini do project and LAST. I agree with Carrie about coconut (my favorite so far) and neroli being far less “big.”
I would love to see androtics come up with some less- sweet/more “perfume” like packages like amber, sandalwood, tonka, or something mixing those ingredients, perhaps replications of certain well known scents or just a good “perfume-y” base.
well, sometimes things get sent out with different scents in them than expected … my first order included a To-Go of Instant Sexiness A that turned out to be chocolatini x2. I thought it was the weirdest interpretation of neroli (so says the store) I had ever encountered.
If it’s pretty coconutty, then it probably is coconut scent.
Right, and those have equal amounts of TAA (main ingredient in Instant Shine) and Alpha -nol (main ingredient in Instant Openness). Kind of a Shine/Openness mix for ladies…men had a line of the same, but in their fragrances.
