Crush on a much older man and losing confidence around him: what should I do?

My gawd, ladies and gents… I think I’ve finally fallen in love. Now I can’t think straight. What should I do about it? :o He may or may not know. Yes, yes, I know it qualifies as ‘unrequited crush’ and it hurts so bad.

I don’t know if he likes me.

He’s much much much older.

I always go for the ones I can’t have.

Sigh.

Why do you think you cant have him? Have you worn any mones around him? Dont overdo them less is more. Are you sure its unrequited or is that nerves and a hiccup in your confidence showing?

Girl you are just gonna have to spill it and tell us more.

Tisha

No I have never worn any pheros around him. He’s just so… sweet. I can’t bring myself to do it. The worst thing is that I’ll probably never ever ask him out. He may or may not have a girl. It’s been a weird month. I have been harassed by random men/boys asking me out thinking they have a right to intrude into my personal space. Watching him is like a breath of fresh air. He is so calm, patient, gentle, normal… He blushes easily. He makes me blush. His voice makes me swoon. Oh dear, I have not felt this way with any of my exes. It’s always been ‘I drag ye to ze bedroom NOW’ kind of crude.

I’m happy for you, FullMoonNow. Infatuation is such an energizing feeling. If I had my choice, I’d feel that way all the time.

There isn’t much for you to do, really. Just try not to focus on him too exclusively or you may make him feel weird. Be your cute happy flirty self around him and keep dating your mini-harem of smitten guys. If you keep sending clear signals of flirtatious interest and crack out the pheromones and he still doesn’t initiate anything, there is a reason. Like that he’s taken or not into your type etc. (Weird, but some guys are into ugly chicks or dwarves or mega-overweight ladies or other guys…and they will never be into a hot girly like you me or Tisha.)

BTW: Older guys love MX135 and EST.

Well thank you for including me in that :stuck_out_tongue: I thinks its because they feel intimidated by attractive women. Kitten is right just be yourself. Go low dose on the mones with reliable mixes. Indicate your interest and try to create a comfort zone with him and see how he reacts. He may feel because he is older then you that you wouldnt be interested. He may be taken but you will find that out as you get to know him. He will most likely slip that in if it is so after the first few IOI.

I dont know if you do this but do you tend to babble or go blank when you see him? I know thats not the normal for you, me either, but it can happen sometimes when your around someone who really lights your fire. If so try counting in your head when you see him. It will help clear the lust fog.

After all these years my husband can still manage to blank my mind once in a while :stuck_out_tongue:

Tisha

Umm, I lose my self confidence around him. :frowning: I become really useless.

Im going through that myself, a woman so gorgeous that it takes all of my attention not to babble around her.

It should never be any other way.

Now that’s just not right. Where’s the passion!

Ask him to accompany you to lunch. That’s a classic, “I might be interested, but then again, I may just want company” move. It’s perfect for the female gender :stuck_out_tongue:

Spray on some pheromones in the bathroom though. (as I sprout horns, smile deviously, and rub my hands together)

Don’t sweat the age difference. As an old fart myself I tell you that. Personally I actually find the younger mindset/outlook more interesting than many in my age group. The -20 year something (20+ younger than me) I like is alot more interesting to me than the +5 I know. She has gotten to be too be too negative in her outlook, poor sense of humor, lack of wonder at the world. Boring.

It’s in the mind and spirit, not the calendar.

As long as he isn’t committed to anybody get to it.

Man, I’m sorry… I always try to keep my replies short and quick, but then I end up blabbering on and writing a novel. So, here’s what I have to say to you…

What is “much, much older?”

A few years after my mum died, my dad met a woman 26 years younger than him, and eventually married her.

I know many couples where there is at least a 15 year age difference. I even know a girl my own age, who is married to a man 20 years older than her. The parents of one of my friends have a 20 year difference between them. Heck, even I dated a 22 year old (12 years younger than me). One of my best friends married a girl 7 years older than him.

People make too much of a big thing of age differences. If two people love each other, it’s no one else’s business.

I used to think that I always went for “the ones I couldn’t have”. But when I look back at those, especially the ones that didn’t work out, I realize that at least I made a valiant effort in reaching for it.

I’m in the same situation as you right now, but it’s opposite: I’m the older guy, and I’m the one with the crush. Maybe she’s crushing too. I’m not confidently sure, but I see hints of it. In fact, at one point I was convinced that she started it, because she started to display various IOIs whenever we were around each other, and that was what suddenly opened my eyes to her. I started to fall, and tried to stop myself. I found myself in love, and then depressed about it: I’ve known this girl for a long time, so it’s a bit trickier, and I didn’t want to get hurt yet again in case I was mistaken. But,… I also realized that I love being around her. I love the way she makes me feel. I love it when our eyes lock. I love her smile. SO, as easy as it could have been to say forget about it (and use the age difference as an excuse - or use anything as an excuse really), I knew I would not be able to forgive myself if I gave up without trying and found out later that she felt the same way.

And then I found myself first stumbling upon and then wandering around deeper and deeper into this crazy world of pheromones, including this wacky forum…

Lose your fear - put on some confidence-building pheros if you have to - and go get this guy! - Think about it… the worst that can happen is that it doesn’t work out, and you’ll eventually get over it. But… if you give up before you even give it a chance, then how do you know that you won’t have given up on what could’ve been the best thing that could have happened?
