Diffusion rates- my thoughts/questions

I have seen that if you add oil base to a pheromone product it last much longer. The question I have is, if one would add in a pheromone that has a long lasting diffusion into a pheromone that has a fast acting diffusion what would happened?

I’m talking about adding any pheromone/ product you can think of together.

My thoughts are

  1. It extends the life of the fast diffusing Pheromone
  2. It cuts the life of the slow diffusion Pheromone
  3. It does nothing.

I also have another observation would the type of pheromones matter on the lasting effects of diffusion? I’m wondering how to balance out the different diffusion rate of product to get that maximum amount of time off of the products?

I also am thinking about how fast diffusion rates happened on the application points and how different types of pheromones last on different parts of the body. I understand that the more heat the more diffusion you get. I’m also thinking about how colognes / body spray would speed up the diffusion processes.

I would appreciate your opinions on this subject.

I think you’re wondering about this a little too much smelly, as we all know there’s MANY different factors that can definitely have an impact on the life of pheromones on your skin.

I personally am not sure if something like -none (which stays longer on the skin) added to TAA or IS (short lasting molecules) will prolong the life of these on the skin. Only thing that’s a for sure thing is slowing down the diffusive rate by way of oil, other than that there’s fixatives like the one added to MX289 (experimental longer lasting IS.) I just don’t know what that fixative really is though.

I kind of went into my mad scientist mode tonight and start thinking.

I’m curious about this subject because I haven’t seen much posted on it.

The easiest way for me to answer your question would be to say that DPG/oil slows down the diffusion rate of every pheromone.

That is the tricky thing about using DPG/oil. The oil slows the diffusion rate down on every pheromone, which is why you need a stronger mcg to match (get similar) results of an alcohol based mix. It is hard to balance out the diffusion rates of some pheromones like the TAA vs None. They are on opposite ends of the spectrum in length of time they last. You can bet, Androtics, as well as every perfume house has spent a large amount of money to get the best diffusion rate and sillage for you buck. They do not just pick the cover scents for their wonderful smell  DPG/oil is great in some circumstances. However, for many (probably most) applications, the alcohol solution is the best choice. Don’t get me wrong, I love oil products! But on the for the most part, having a product that lasts 4 hours suits most people fine. How often do you find youself in a situation where you need a product longer than that? Other than at work, there are not a whole lot. Its easy to reapply. As a side note, adding oil extends the life of a mix, usually around 1-2 hours on average. For your money, alcohol is the way to go. Now if you find a mix, that you love… an everyday mix… then IMO it is great to work on making it an oil. I am not trying to discourage you from using oils at all. Again I think they are great, but it is a very expensive niche of this hobby to get into. It is very rewarding though, I use oil based mixes several times a week for work purposes mainly. I have ICM mixes from Snoopyace, as well as one I made for myself. I have may of my favorite putatives concentrated into an oil base. I love A314, its my favorite product!

One thing I have done to “test” a putative with a more oil based base, is to mix the putative into a few drops of A314. While its not perfect, you can get a feel of what would happen, and an idea of the mcg you would need to use if you wanted to make that putative into oil… It has worked well and is cheaper than having to make a crappy waste of mess

Also, there is some talk about diffusion in the older posts, search for diffusion under Tacitus’s posts. He talks about it some.

Another idea, would be trying to use lotion, that would slow the rate down as well…
